Esecially when Castillo got deducted a point for no reason.
Joe let Hatton fight against Castillo. I think the booing of the National Anthem and most of the crowd singing "God Save the Queen" effected Cortez and he decided he wasn't going to let Hatton win.

Calzaghe needs to demand another referee since the British taking over an American arena clearly effected Cortez's ability to be neutral.

Interesting news, indeed. Cortez might be looking for some redemption.

          I'll have that in mind..

            Yes.

            How sad.

I may not even bother watching the fight now.

If the powers that be didn't think that Joe Cortez did a bad job, why would he be working another fight in boxing's spotlight? He did a fine job of refereeing in the Mayweather Hatton fight, another referee it could've turned into the Judah-May brawl. Joe Cortez is a good choice.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Cortez is a professional (20 + years?) and a class act, I don't see him seeking his own personal vengeance against the UK through Hatton. I agree he didn't do the best job but please stop with the accusations without ANY proof.

He obviously likes Mayweather a great deal.

Any accusations of him being anti-British are absurd.

He ****ed Hatton over big time but it had nothing to do with his feelings for the English or the British.

regardless he should not be rewarded for his bizarre and shoddy job in Hatton vs Mayweather.
