I like Hopkins, don't get me wrong... Some people think I hate him but I don't. I just like Calzaghe a whole lot more because he is far more exciting and comes from my country. I watched Hopkins for the technical part of the sport.

but my first fight....that was forrest - mosley 1. i remember looking at both records...both guys were undefeated.

Shane had these sweet american trunks and looked like a killer. he was big as **** and was rated as one of the top p4p fighters of the sport.

i remember lampley mentioning the fact that forrest beat him in the amateurs and was thinking "mosley is going to whoop this fool's ass"
You weren't alone. I thought I heard HBO say that Mosley was a 7 to 1 favorite?

that is still my favorite fight to date.

sometimes being green to the sport is cool....makes it really entertaining. if i would of known the history of both fighters i guarantee i wouldn't of picked mosley to dominate him.

The first boxing fight I remember watching was back on 1981, Wilfredo Gomez vs. Salvador Sanchez. Watching a family hero getting beat up was surprising. I still remember all the gossip surrounding the fight and why Gomez lose...

I think IchiBonDJ's link is still alive in the video trading block, you might want to grab it if you don't have it yet.

i cant remember my first fight i used to watch boxing matches with my panamanian grandfather when i was a kid in the 90's and all i could remember from those days are tyson, holyfield, de la hoya, trinidad, and joppy but the
fight that made me an instant boxing fan for some reason is zab judah vs. edwin vasquez (kinda odd) but now that i look back at it that fight was a ****ty fight and all that was being done was zab judah throwing uppercuts the whole fight but it seemed so cool at the time

Actually the first fight that I remember watching was exciting and memorable. It was Tyson/Spinks. I was only 6 yrs old at the time, but all I remember was we were going over to my uncle's house to watch Tyson fight. I can't remember at the time I think it was PPV or my uncle had HBO so we went over there. I just wanted to go over there to hang out with my cousin, but he was all into watching the fight so I did to. I just remember seeing Tyson walking to the ring and thinking he was the toughest man in the world. The fight was over in seconds and I was hooked.
