When Jones Jr was knocked out against johnson it was not from a punch!

Listen...Roy is a friend of mine....I know his greatness as well as anyone...but he was knocked out on the impact of the punch... well before he hit the canvasComment

Well I am good friends with the canvas that worked the fight that night and he said (oh yes, he's a he) that it was his fault Jones was knocked out the way he was. The ringposts confirmed it and the logo as well.Comment

Really? If that's the case then it was the turnbuckle that Knocked Ricky Hatton down against Floyd...it was from jones jr head smacking the canvas, johns caught jones jones ducked away and with his left johnson threw a left hook that wasnt a knock down punch but he pushed jones jr over and his head hit the canvas.
when your head bounces off the canvas you will get a concussion **** look painful
C'mon Domain, let's not kid ourselves! I'm a Roy fan too, but you know good & well Roy was out cold b-4 he hit the canvas! We all know Roy in his prime would have taken Johnson to school & flunked his a$$ but this was a severly weight & energy drained (from the constant gaining/losing weight) Roy & he got caught (twice)...
Don't take anything away from Glencoffe by saying the canvas knocked him out b/c that is crazy & makes you sound even crazier for suggesting something like that, when you have the video to prove he was knocked out cold...that's prob why he couldn't break his fall...

I was sitting ringside, beside the commissioners, the knockdown happened right in front of me. (in fact you can see me at the 2:25 mark in the bottom left hand corner of the video, though the camera angle has the red rope in front of my eyes I am right at the ring itself.)
What you don't see from the camera shot, was that Roys' feet were tangled with Glen's feet, and Roy was already off balance, I was looking at their feet when the punch landed, and to be quite honest, the punch was not a devestating one, I could tell by the sound of it landing. My immediate thought when I saw Roy hit the canvas, was that he got hurt MUCH more by the canvas than the punch, it was just one of those things that happen in our sport....Comment

Delivery Man, you said: "Those canvases are designed to ridiculously absorb shock. It's like a wrestling ring, the same wrestling ring used to throw around 300lb men."
You are WAAAAY wrong, a wrestling ring has a sub flooring that is SPRING LOADED, the entire thing bounces when you land on it. Wrestling rings are designed to absorb landing.
A boxing ring has a rigid frame that uses large bolts instead of springs, and they are not designed to give way when a fight hits the canvas....Comment

That isn't the case here fam. Roy wasn't pushed down. he was struck and wobbled with the overhand and when he leaned forward and slightly blocked that next short punch he just fell with the momentum because of that over hand, THEN he falls he hits his head and that played a big part, probably the reason why he couldn't even move or try to stand up when he fell but he wasn't pushed he was dropped. see even though the left hook wasn't a knock out punch SOMETHING had to drop him, and it wasn't a push. there was no visible push but I DID see a punch that landed and him fall shortly after. no doubt after the head on the floor hit Roy was OUT but he was rocked beforehand. the fight was going that way for many rounds prior and it all came full circle in those final moments. I got nothing but love for Roy but Glen put in his work that night.it was from jones jr head smacking the canvas, johns caught jones jones ducked away and with his left johnson threw a left hook that wasnt a knock down punch but he pushed jones jr over and his head hit the canvas.

Wow, it only took 3 pages before anyone with any boxing sense picked up on what really happened. lol Yep, he was out after that punch, or else he would have caught his head before it hit the canvas.dude, he was knocked out, and although his head bouncing off the canvas wasn't good and didn't help jones any, he fell like an ironing board, and the only way you fall like that is if you get ko'd.
it was a double impact, fist to the temple and head bouncing off the canvas. which one happened first????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
answer: the fist landed before the head hit the canvas.................he was sleeping on his way down, had he not been separated from his senses he would've caught himself or went down in a completely different way, not flat out on his back with his head leading the way, DUH?!?!
please............Comment
