Hitting the canvas that hard would knockout alot of ppl. This coming from a not so huge Roy Jones fan. I've even had girls tell me that that dont even watch boxing.

You don't fall like that unless you are stunned from a punch, otherwise Roy could've protected himself better. The left hook wasn't much of a push (it had no force behind it).

I've seen the punch from another camera angle and it rocked Roy's head back.

the head smack was definitely painful..

i think it was a legitimate knockdown... and his head smacking the canvas had a lot to do with him not moving for 10 mins

The right stunned him, the left pushed him, and the canvas knocked him the hell out. Three punch super combo.

The right hand to the temple was what hurt him, then Johnson followed up with a left hook to the shoulder that pushed Jones down onto the canvas, hitting his head that hard certainly didn't help.

The right and left knocked him down and the canvas didn't help him.

But hitting the canvas hard certainly didn't help.
Beat me to it. The right hand before the little left was the one that hurt him. That was a pretty hard shot.

That ****ing canvas has a lot to answer for.

The original poster is right... they should readjust Roy's career record so that it shows he never lost to Tarver or Johnson, and have "Canvas KO2" on there.

                      Good call, well done you.
