Ring Awards Pacquiao, But Says Marquez Won

Why are people so upset at the decision?? Marquez needed the big finish just to get to the point where it's controversial. The fight was nearly called twice. Had the fight ended in the 3rd round...it'd be tko. Had the fight been called at the end of the 10th round because of the nastyass cut on JMM's eye on the accidental headbutt the scorecards would have had Pacquiao ahead by an overwhelming margin. It would also have been a unanimous decision had the 2nd knockdown in the 3rd round counted along with that. The fight wasnt even close until the final round. So if u wanna talk about "IF"s....think about that 1st before asking if there's realy something wrong with boxing just because the decision went Pacquiao's way.

the ring its entitled to their opinion its a magazine not a boxing organization it doesnt have to be neutral in fact their p4p ratings are very subjective

mannn...i wanna know which rounds people gave to marquez to say that he won by 2 points...

I mean, I've watched the fight over and over and I have Pacquiao winning rounds 1,3,4,7,9,10,11 and Marquez winning 2,5,6,8,12....which makes my scorecard 115-112 for Pacquiao, but it could have also been 114-113 Pacquiao because the eleventh round could have went either way

I score rounds by which fighter lands the most clean blows...mann, pacquiao blocked a lot of Marquez punches in this fight and I don't think people really payed attention to that

and as far as Compubox goes, mann, that **** is bull**** anyway...they have 2 people running that **** and both of them could have made errors, because a punch may look like a clean blow from their angle but from a different angle you can see that it was actually blocked and from knowing that right there makes compubox stats insufficient

mann, i hope they fight a third fight in the future

and this shouldnt be surprising, since 75% of the press that have given scoredcards had marquez winning...

What are people complaining about?

The Ring has stated numerous times that they go by the OFFICIAL results, not whom won on their scorecard.

They said they thought Hopkins won the first Taylor fight, but went with the official decision of Taylor and awarded him champ.

They disagreed with the Casamayor-Santa Cruz decision, but didn't award Santa Cruz the belt because they felt he won.

Same thing here.

The Ring did not lose it's credibility......it has been like that ever since. They go by what's official, but they do have thier own scores. Nigel Collins is an honorable man, I doubt DLH has any influence on him...or he would have left the magazine. The RING belt is the most prestigious/hard to get belt...who has been awarding belts even before these crap alphabet organizations even exist!
