maybe i am confused and i will not be embarassed if i am either but why can't winky who was a elite fighter and is still a contender get an immediate shot? sure you have more deserving fighters but lets look at what boxing is about at the moment, De la hoya can rest for 2-3 years and get a title shot, i know he is the golden one and has the most money but that has nothing to do with the science of boxing, mayweather fights when he wants who he wants as a sanctioned champion, and furthermore not much people criticized Tito Trinidad, when he had a shot a shot at pavilik and been laid off for about 3 years and loss his bout with Roy, which would have happened if he could have made 160 not even Bob Arum. So lets just say winky does not bring much money to the table and is a boring fighter, but this how he gets a title shot, after 1 year when its done consistently in the boxing is hilarious.

Your right I think he should be able to get an immediate shot because of who he was, but I think it comes down to what fans want to see, I hate to seem like i just dont like wright because that isnt the case. If thats his style of boxing, thats how he fights best and wins fights and wants to keep fighting that way then more power to him, but dont be upset when people dont want to pay for your fights because you bore them to sleep. As much as it sucks, Money has become the science of boxing it seems like. The question isn't witch fight will answer questions in the sport as to whom is the best, but witch fight is it that will bring in the most money.Comment

Tell me how Pavlik would ever be considered scared of Winky Wright? He throws way too many punches for Winky. (not Sam Soliman punches) He has a great chin and most importantly , he has serious KO power. Pavlik has fought (4) very tough and scary fights in the last 14 months and should not have to defend himself about ducking Winky "boring fight" Wright. There is nothing indicating that Winky Wright would stand a chance with Kelly P. Tell me how you have a draw with a guy who got beat down (2) times and you think you can beat the guy who beat that guy down? (Refering to Taylor)Comment

Pavlik vs. Wright would be a classic
Pavlik is a true warrior he will fight anybody and you have to respect that. Of course his promoter wants to milk his talent for some money before he lets him face a real threat like Winky. Pavlik has power but thats about his only chance against Winky. Winky has the better jab and his defense will keep him on his feet. Styles make fights and with both of these two only coming forward it could be a classic. Lets make it happen.Comment

I'm pretty sure Pavlik's camp talked to Winky's before signing with Lockett, but Winky will only fight for a boat load of money.
Anyway, if Winky is really serious about wanting this fight, I'm pretty sure Pavlik will give him a chance soon after Lockett.Comment

I don't know how I feel about this. I would like to see Pavlik vs. Winky but I kind of feel like he needs a win against a MW contender first. I really don't think Pavlik is afraid of Winky or will try to duck him. Winky won't hurt him but he might still have enough left to win a UD and make him look bad.
I think Pavlik would win a UD based on work rate though and I could even see Pavlik scoring a knock down maybe. Winky has a good chin but I am trying to think if he's ever been hit by a guy as hard as Pavlik can hit him..?Comment

abraham fought 2 top 30 junior middleweights consecutively, then a top 20 middleweight, now he is gonna fight elvin ayala....and his title is a phoney....but yeah he deserves a shot a pavlik more

Would be a bad fight for Pavlik, it would be a easy decision for Wright, he would just stay on the outside and out box Kelly for 12 rounds. Wright's defense is just to good even for someone with Pavliks power.Comment
