Is holding a rope consider a knockdown?

    Holding onto the ropes from a big punch seems foolish.

    see Maccarinelli/Haye.

    Though it is a knockdown.

    I remember Amir Khan losing his balance and hanging onto the ropes, it was a knockdown. That was from about 0.1% of the damage Pac inflicted for the 2nd 3rd round knockdown.

        He was holding it not because he was falling down but because he wants to clothesline Pacquiao so Manny would be the one to fall down. Right....

                someone post a gif or footage instead of just complaining. i also could have sworn that a punch that JMM landed on Pac caused him to go down, but it was ruled a slip.

                    I don't know what the rule books say, but i've always seen it as the fighters responsibility, his choice - take a knee(like Haye did against Mormeck) or hold onto the rope and try and fight it out.

                      It most definitly was many people have pointed it out, Marquez could have easily lost round 3 10-7.
