    Depends. If holding that rope prevented you from going down from a punch, then yes.

        If holding the rope kept the fighter from being falling then yeah but just holding it the way Ali use to do doesn't constitute a knockdown in and of itself.

        The way holding the ropes held Marquez up in the 12th round of the Vazquez fight is a Knockdown.

                You are talking about round 3 of the Marquez-Pacman fight, so no, that was not a knock down.

                    If the ropes prevent a knockdown then it should be called as a knockdown. This means if a fighter holds the ropes or if a fighter is knocked backwards into the ropes and looks like he would drop if the ropes were further away.
