It would be a better fight with better refereeing. Mayweather would still win but the second half would be more interesting... while it lasted.

I cant see why this fight does not happen in the U.K...
It must be the biggest earning fight out there right now..
Is it because Mayweather is scared to fight hatton without Cortez?
Is it because because Cortez wont be given entrance to the U.K?
Is it because there is to much money on the table maybe? If the fight was to be held in the U.K would it be the one of the biggest attended fight for many years?
If you was Mayeather wouldnt you take the fight just for the paper alone?

WOW people say some ignorant ****.Comment

A late knockout is the end of a story that starts in round 1. Would Ricky be consigned to rushing in from the outside if Cortez had allowed infighting? Or could it have possibly been a pell-mell battle?
I don't mind Floyd cheating, I don't mind a jumpy and over-zealous ref, but what I do mind is a referee content to let one fighter do all of the cheating while penalizing the other.
The referee is the only reason that a rematch would make sense.Comment

Excuses..............Excuses
Yawn at this thread.
Why can't we just accept that Ricky Hatton was Victim # 39, another name added to the list that tried but failed.........and move on.
It's boring.Comment

From now on when we discuss this topic with radical/hardcore Hatton fans, we will just refer to him as.... "# 39" and nothing else.
Like assigning a number to a prisoner.Comment

I agree with that. I just think if Hatton was allowed to fight his fight he would of been closer on the scorecards but still coulda ended up KO'd.
But that being said shouldnt mean he never gets a rematch just cos he got KO'd. Great fighters have been KO'd before and managed to beat their opponent again.Comment

LOL!!!! That's what I'm sayin. This is definitely not the biggest fight for Mayweather. Hatton was caught with a lot of major punches throughout the fight that had nothing to do with any help Mayweather may have received from the ref. If anything, a fight in the UK would result in a biased referee that would allow all kinds of rough house tactics from Hatton. If you have to resort to that type of fighting to win a fight, then your not a real fighter. It reminds me of how DLH would hold on to Mayweather and rip him with hooks to the body over and over. That was clearly a mark of frustration, because DLH couldn't hit him any other way. Same goes with Hatton. He had his chance, and got knocked the **** out. End of story, but apparently the whining never stops.Comment

I think it matters in this point of Mayweathers career, where he's fighting only a few more times and want's to make as much money as he can before he gets out. If the money is there, he'll fight Hatton. But I don't think anyone but UK fans want to see that fight at this point.I agree with that. I just think if Hatton was allowed to fight his fight he would of been closer on the scorecards but still coulda ended up KO'd.
