Does anyone find it funny that...

A WORLD champion is only considered to be any good if they have fought in the USA?

Take Joe Calzaghe, who succesfully defended his title 20 odd times over 10 years and has not lost for 17 years (in the amateurs) but most considered him to be protected etc just cause he has not defended his WORLD title in AMERICA?

Like when AMERICA took Alis WORLD title away?

Why does AMERICA think it has the ****ing rule over all of the WORLD boxing? Fair enough, its big has big arenas an the big fights etc but to say a champ is only good if he has fought there if ****ing ******.

I will admitt that it you ALWAYS get gift decisions by not leaving a place (Sven Ottke) then OK but Calzaghe has deserved all his wins so did Hatton etc

I can admitt they did not fight top elite fighters in their prime and best possible position but they fought good fighters while America seems to be basing resumes on names not fighters. Rant over. My opinion, say what you want.

There are idiots who feel that way, but then there are fight fans who know you dont have to be from the states to be a true champion, a true fight fan knows Calzaghe is the goods, the problem is, America loves to be sold, and Hopkins has been selling himself since he finally got his first Big payday with Trinindad, However come the night he meets Joe its over for Bernard.

It's not where he has fought a good fighter is a good fighter anywhere.. when you are fighting Sakio Bika and looking very sloppy doing it, I think he even got cut.. then Peter Manfredo.. how serious do you want people to take you?
The majority of his career has been nicely padded.. I like that he fought Kessler though.

But its not just Joe, everyone from outside America is criticised for who they have fought

Someone refered to David Haye as 'a prospect' the other day and hes an undisputed champ lol

I was using Calzaghe as an example (i also used Ali as an example) i'm not just talking about Joe. I mean everybody who has not fought in the uS is critisised and its really pissing me off. But if a fighter from the US only fights tere its a different story!

Well you can do one of two things here, accept the fact that, that is just the way it is, or you can kick rocks and stay pissed off about it, the choice is yours however I just think its a waste of energy to bother with what other people think.

Americans are not the only people who act that way, I have been in Vegas when Lewis has fought, and let me tell you, some of you ****ers from the UK are just as arogant.

There ARE people who think that way but i dont...

i dont think you have to fight in Vegas or New York or even in the U.S. at all to be a champion.

Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe are world class fighters no doubt.

Calzaghe hasnt fought IN the U.S. but he's fought fighters that CAME from the U.S. so for those arguing that sound ******...i mean he's going to fight bernard hopkins for god sakes...bernard hopkins...one of the best of his time...

what more could you argue on that one?

Hatton has come to U.S. and fought castillo and mayweather... and others...

calzaghe has also fought U.S. fighters...just because the actual fight wasnt on U.S. soil doesnt make a difference...

infact the BEST isnt all from the U.S. anyway...calzaghe and hatton are two examples right there...what about kessler? pacquiao? all the great mexican fighters...

you dont have to come to the U.S. to be the best...just the ignorant believe that...
