in an MMA match Roy jones would be easily Ko'd against Anderson. Like I stated, Knees and kicks land harder then any punch could ever be thrown, and Anderson is a master at using them. Roy would get clinched and dominated.

Boxers are not used to taking shots that hard to the face, legs or body. If you took a baseball bat and swung it at someones leg, it produces equivalent if not slightly less force as a kick from a trained fighter. Boxers are simply not trained to take that type of punishment. They are trained to take tons of punishment from punches however.

Sadly, that won't save you when a knee is being driven towards your face, and you have absolutely no training to defend it and the ref is not going to step in and break the clinch up.

It makes no difference. Anderson has beem taking knees and kicks to the face since he was a little kid. He hasn't ever been hurt by strikes in his entire career. Roy could for sure stop him in a boxing match from the sheer amount of blows he will land on Anderson. However in an MMA match it's much different. These guys have been training decades to get the clinch or takedown while defending against strikes. Strikes from world class kickboxers or Muay Thai fighters that happen as fast and are normally knees, or legs with longer reach. Boxing fans need to understand that some guys in MMA have trained in forms of striking that are as technical as boxing, since they were kids. Much like Anderson Silva has. He isn't new to striking. He has been hit with everything from every part of the body.

He also isn't going to attempt to get close to Jones like a boxer will. He will get close like a wrestler or Muay Thai fighter, which is much different. Also expect Roy jones JR to land on his ass from a leg kick because he isn't used to defending them. Even guys who have trained for decades are often knocked off balance or on their ass from good leg kicks.

In an MMA match Anderson EASILY wins.

In a boxing match RJJ EASILY wins.

in the ring roy would outbox his ass off and stop him , in the octagon roy would most likely just dance and try to avoid getting grabbed by silva...he could prob do it as he has such a speed advantage but if he get takendown hes ****ed but as boxers hit much much harder than mma fighters if roy landed a few shots especially with those tiny gloves they wear silva would drop like a fly

Even this version of Roy makes Anderson Silva look like a damn fool in a boxing match. Roy would easily win and do it by KO. No MMA fighter will have any chance against a worldclass boxer in a boxing match under boxing rules.

I don't even think Silva is serious about fighting Roy.
