The fact most people leave out of these rjj anderson silva threads is that silva is a southpaw. I cannot see an unproven southpaw having a remote chance at beating an elite orthodox fighter. My prediction Roy Jones by brutal KO not TKO in under 4 rounds.

Those ARE the Roy HATERS... A logical non biased person would see that even a 39 yr old roy jones jr would beat the gloves off anderson silva in a boxing ring.

Its obvious whoever said Silva would win... Is either an MMA Junkie, or a straight biased Roy HATER... I was surprised eveen _Ricky_ Picked roy to win... but moofo, he makes himself look like an idiot. With his REE****YALUSS signature, that makes him look even worse.

In a boxing match, Silva is in way over his head.

I mean roy would get knocked out in 30 seconds flat in a cage match with the guy... but, thats not what the article is about, and thats not the debate... for anyone to think anderson silva can win a boxing match? Anyone even debating that roy would lose, is an automatic idiot.

Even in a UFC match Jones wouldn't get knocked out by punches, those small gloves would only help his punching power. He would get submitted though.

Edit: I'm tired....forgot about Silva's knees and kicks. That Muay Thai clinch is brutal.

As a lot of you know I am a huge huge MMA fan. I write MMA colums for various sources in Canada and know everything about the sport.

However, I don't know a single logical MMA fan who thinks Anderson would beat Roy Jones. He just wouldn't. I don't agree with him getting knocked out, but I can see a stoppage or an extremely easy UD win for Roy.

The same goes for Roy in MMA. Except Roy would get knocked out. Kicks and knees land much much harder then a punch ever could. It's simply a physical fact. What Roy Jones did with his hands in his prime, Anderson does with his elbows, kicks and knees.

In boxing, Roy Jones wins easy. In MMA Anderson wins just as easy.

in an MMA match Roy jones would be easily Ko'd against Anderson. Like I stated, Knees and kicks land harder then any punch could ever be thrown, and Anderson is a master at using them. Roy would get clinched and dominated.

Boxers are not used to taking shots that hard to the face, legs or body. If you took a baseball bat and swung it at someones leg, it produces equivalent if not slightly less force as a kick from a trained fighter. Boxers are simply not trained to take that type of punishment. They are trained to take tons of punishment from punches however.

Sadly, that won't save you when a knee is being driven towards your face, and you have absolutely no training to defend it and the ref is not going to step in and break the clinch up.
