And what I'm saying is he's already begun the process of courting Abraham. Its very difficult to get these germans to the states with their belts. It would be insane to disrupt that process while it is still going well. Especially since Winky has done nothing recently to earn this shot. More importantly Pavlik is alerady turned towards Abraham. He'll get to Winky afterwards. He'll get paid plenty well for Abraham and if Winky actually wants to fight Pavlik like he is saying then he'll be ready down the road.

I think Winky needs to prove he can beat a top guy before getting a title shot, he hasn't won in what 2 years? I respect Winky as a fighter and all but win first then you can have pavlik, and also I doubt they'd fight in Youngstown, we don't have a big enough place here unless they have it outside...good luck w/ all the rain...

I'm confident a fight with Abraham or Winky will end in a win for Pavlik. But to be honest, I think Abraham has a better chance of winning(as remote as it). Abraham could get lucky and land flush a few times. Counterpunching or not Pavlik's stamina is excellent and as cmonmang said you can't stand still. Pavlik would win a decision by pushing his workrate. Copy box numbers would heavily favor Pavlik, and so would the scorecards.

Kelly Pavlik would beat WInky Wright down. Even if he didnt he is HBO's golden boy and would win a decision on work rate alone.

Abraham provides a more exciting fight, probably nearly as much money, plus it would give Pavlik worldwide acclaim, which is becoming more and more important as interest in boxing in the US continues to dwindle.

i think it comes down to what pavlik and his team are looking for...

from a financial and resume standpoint a fight with winky wright does a WHOLE LOT more for his career than gary lockett.

winky is basically begging him to sign the contract...

he offers his biggest payday
a big name to add to his resume
and a fight in his hometown...
he brings in more fans than all the potential opponents mentioned in that article...(ie. Lorenzo; Rubio; Lockett)...more fans that are brought in the better of a chance pavlik has to make himself a PPV fighter/household name...

wins over lorenzo; rubio; lockett dont do nearly as much for him to be honest...

i think what he's offering might be the best deal pavlik can make at this point.

we finally have a fighter who wants to do the right thing, does not chase the money instead of his duty as the champion, and wants to unify, but he should **** that up for winky? the winky has not fought, has not won a big fight above 54 , and is living off past glory, but pavlik is the one who takes ctiticism?

If it were up to Pavlik, im sure he would take the fight in a heartbeat. Its Bob ****ing Arum that doesnt want the fight for whatever reason. Think about it? What would Pavlik have to fear in Winky? All Winky does is jab and cover up. Here and there he'll make attempts to throw power punches that look as if they couldnt hurt a cat. With Winky, its all about cracking his D, and with a fighter like Pavlik its very possible to do that.
