Do you honestly think the ref couldn't see Enzo violently hit the ropes?

I dont know in all honesty. I was watching it on a decent sized TV and I saw Enzo get blasted into the ropes and then I think that he held onto the ropes, I'm not entirely sure whether he touched down or whether his legs gave way, and I've seen it replayed too.

Now admittedly, a ref in the midst of the battle should've seen more than that. But its academic, so it doesnt make too much difference in the scheme of things. Would a football referee get hauled in front of a panel for missing and offside call on the last goal of a 6-0 drubbing?

The stoppage was the correct call obviously, but when Enzo was saved by the ropes the ref should have gave Enzo a count. We aren't blessed with the best refs in this country. Vann, Parris and the one who reffed Calzaghe = Manfredo are all poor officials IMO.

Much agreed, no reason for Enzo to take that last right hand.

He was helpless.

I've just watched it again and Enzo had no chance.
By the time the ref did step in it was already over.

im sure there are some dumb**** refs in thailand, phillipines or nigeria that probably are worse

so far the people who know what theyre talking about- addison, monk and myself are in agreement. everyone else is high off of david hayes pecs and think were trying to take something away from him when all were doing is pointing out that the ref failed to do his damn job.... clearly failed.

haye knocked him out just when the ref stopped it, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
