    K.

I think people should know by now that Atlas's picks aren't foolproof.

I'd say he's wrong about 75% of the time.

I'm picking Peter by KO. He has an old, broken man in front of him.

But yeah, Atlas has been errant in his picks in recent years, but maybe he has his own reasons for picking him. Dave Anderson picked George Foreman by first round KO over Ali, which is egg on his face for sure. So we all get them wrong sometimes.
that said I have to wonder about the supposed granite chin of Samuel Peter against punchers post MCline. Maskaev can punch, Peters defense is not good, boxing skills not great so it will quickly turn into a shoot out. may the best man win.

Any man over 200 lbs can hurt any man. Period.

          Maskaev can punch
          Aye

          Peters defense is not good
          No, it's really not.

          boxing skills not great
Whoa nelly. Compared to the rest of the division except Wlad? lolz. He's like Muhammad Ali. Based on what he showed in his last two fights.

so it will quickly turn into a shoot out. may the best man win.
          Right, Sam Peter.

            Right, Sam Peter.
chageav is a better fighter than peter and should be ranked above him even though chageavs last fight was also far from impressive

Agreed, Chagaev should definitely be ranked above Peter, he is a better fighter....Chagaev's UD over Skelton was a lackluster fight, but you can blame the huggy bear WWE joke Skelton for that..Skelton is worse than John Ruiz when it comes to hugging and clinching. Chagaev was also coming off a long layoff and he was rusty.

Chagaev vs Peter - Chagaev by UD...Chagaev would outbox Peter and expose him again if this fight ever happens...I doubt Peter could hurt Chagaev, Chagaev has an iron chin....I would really like to see this fight in the future.

** Well, kid, it's sorta like this: Maskaev didn't have anyone in his corner when he turned pro and had to come up the hard way.

He went 11 hard rounds back when Tua was still Tua, something I know Peter could never do. Oleg is undefeated over the past 6 yrs, and his two KOs of Rahman are higher quality than any win of Peter's, and Rahman is easily as strong or stronger than Peter and he boxes better too.

It's great that you noticed Oleg is old and shopworn, but really, the guy is a lot tougher than Peter and may well catch him early with a lot more power than McCline brings to the table. Peter is always the next fight away from being DQed, and tonite is the next fight. He's too crude to know how to stop the rabbit punches and hits fighters when they are down.

Obviously the promoters gonna want to promote a Peter over a shopworn Maskaev, so everything points to the refs allowing all the Peter fouls, but it may not matter as Oleg has proven power in any round. We'll see as Peter can't seem to punch his way out of TwoTon Toney's chicken bucket the past few years and needs all the help he can get. At the end of the day, the Nigerian Nightmare is turning into the ever expanding Nigerian Pants Brigade last occupied by Abraham Okine, win, lose, or draw.

                Cheers now kid, and enjoy.....

People forget that Maskaev has been in there with Tua, Kirk and Mccall, all of them better fighters than Peter, at that time, so he is very aware of what is coming his way and may be able to stop that, depending on how big a role the age and ring rust will play.

I'm not saying Maskaev will win, personally I believe he doesn't move enough to avoid Peter's bombs, he fights somewhat estatic, but he has a good chance, Peter is overrated.

Teddy is rough in his predictions! We should start a sticky thread to keep track of his picks!
