Teddy Atlas says Peter will KO Maskaev in the first round

So at least now we know that Maskaev will make it through the first round, for sure...

In fact, since Teddy is picking Peter to win by KO, and since he's almost always wrong, it may bring Maskaev some luck!

He didn't predict Diaz to KO Campbell, did he? I sure as hell hope not.

Alright, now it's safe to say Peter will lose.

He predicted that Ibragimov would KO Wlad, that Barrera would defeat Pacquiao last October, that Kessler would defeat Calzaghe, and that Taylor would defeat Pavlik in their first fight.

This is a good omen for Maskaev! lol

            Was worried...

Thought from the title that you were buying it..

I like (ok love) Teddy but he's about as sharp as a bowling ball....

IF there is a KO win I think its much more likely to be OLEG getting it based on his 2 (count em) 2 KO wins over RAHMAN who is a better boxer and more skilled ( and that aint saying too much) than Peter.

Peter is a mule and has good power and conditioning and punch output....thats it....oh ya and a REALLY nice guy....

            Teddy......Well.....he aint no Max Kellerman....

I was at first leaning towards Peter winning, but now I'm even less confident about that pick.

It's an easy pick in my eyes, Maskaev has too many injuries and has been too inactive to deal with a younger guy who will stick around for 12 rounds. He can't even bend his knees, for Pete's sake. Since KO'ing Rahman, what has he really done? In that span, Peter's done much more and it's not as if Maskaev is exactly sturdy.

I'm picking Peter by KO. He has an old, broken man in front of him.

But yeah, Atlas has been errant in his picks in recent years, but maybe he has his own reasons for picking him. Dave Anderson picked George Foreman by first round KO over Ali, which is egg on his face for sure. So we all get them wrong sometimes.
