I'm picking Peter by KO. He has an old, broken man in front of him.

But yeah, Atlas has been errant in his picks in recent years, but maybe he has his own reasons for picking him. Dave Anderson picked George Foreman by first round KO over Ali, which is egg on his face for sure. So we all get them wrong sometimes.

oh shush...maskaev is very well rested.
ring rust won't matter against the clubfighting tactics of peter.
youve seen peter huffin and puffin dazed and confused against mccline.

if maskaev keeps moving from those piccolo petes wizzing by him and gets peter into the mid rounds we could see peter fizzle out and go down in flames.http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=167083

unfortunately I have to agree with you. realistically,,,peter is just too young and maskeav old and inactive,,,also injury prone. I wouldnt be surprised if he's actually coming into this fight with a hurt back. those back problems are usually chronic. I'll be rooting for oleg though

Maskaev's three biggest wins not over Rahman:
        David Defiagbon
        Derrick Jefferson
        Alex Stewart

A little recent history. Hasim Rahman was deemed worthy to be WBC champion when Klitschko retired with a back injury. Rahman received a letter informing him he was a champion. Maskaev KO'ed him for the second time, picking up what was essentially a vacant belt.

I didn't get to watch Maskaev train because his camp was closed to the outside world. From what I saw of Maskaev, he looked pained, old, worn, and that's just him stretching and getting his hands wrapped.

Dennis Rappaport, Maskaev's promoter, has done everything in his power to prevent this fight. Why do you think that is? It's not because Maskaev will kill him too easy, that's for sure.

Sam Peter has issues, and will always have issues with, boxers. Movers, jabbers, guys who can move and make Peter turn. But that's not Maskaev. Maskaev is a straight up, European-style fighter, the kind that Peter thrives against. That Peter is 12 years younger is just icing, really.
I would put my money on Peter if I had to.
You're right for the most part, I just can't forget Peter's last fight, I see Maskaev's right hand landing flush.

Two different styles, McCline was a bigger, longer guy who could see this shorter guy walking in without a jab and take advantage of the openings. Maskaev can't do that, and he certainly can't get out of the way of the return if he does throw a punch. This is a fight between an older, worn-out fighter and a younger, sprucer fighter.

In fact, since Teddy is picking Peter to win by KO, and since he's almost always wrong, it may bring Maskaev some luck!
I didn't notice anyone else mentioning it, but Teddy also picked Marquez last week. Really.

Teddy's picks lose 60 percent of the time every time...

More like 90% of the time. Teddy can't possibly be so ****** as he seems, I think it's all an act.

Peter will stop Maskaev but it should be mid to late rounds. He needs to systematically break him down and take him out, not go in there wild and might the fight harder than it has to be.
