i'm half welsh and half english. I dont care if people call me welsh. english or british. Alot of people in the UK aren't 100% anything anyway because all the countries on the mainland border each other and you get a mix.

I haven`t seen any welsh people, myself included, complaining about being called British, i think this is just trying to stir **** up.

I think he means Anoraks thread about welsh and english people, in response to a thread titled "Will the british boo our anthem again at Calzaghe vs Hopkins". He said Hattons fans were english chavs from manchester, and calzaghes fans are sheep shaggers from the valleys. The thread starter is an idiot who has only just worked it out, about a week too late, but now wants to show off how intelligent he is.

There is so many countries out there, we are not gonna know the exact details of every one of them!
Further more.. If we asked them a bunch of random questions about the U.S. of A.
            They wouldn't know squat!
Does this make them ignorant? No, it doesn't..
So why do y'all look at some Americans like their dumb if they know everything thier is to know about the U.K?
YOU started the thread, obviously with the aim of teaching us about our own country, a few of us have corrected your mistake. And we're the ones acting like smartarses?! Get a grip man!

If you don't like to be called British then seperate..

That's like a Hawaiian saying they are not American!

Swizz mon ami, you never let us down do you. French Canadians in glass houses should throw stones!!! There are no cultures with more of an inferiority complex than the Gallic ones, for christ sakes every other language is prepared to incorporate new anglo saxon words into their lexicon, but no the French / French Canadians have to try to make up a 'new' gallic version so as to keep their language free of such taints!! I think Quebec has got a government department for it!!!!

The thing that is strange about the UK, you never find black or Asian fighters from there calling themselves english, they always say British, like Amir Khan, they want to distance themselves from being classed as english. You never get that from Scotland/Wales/Ireland.

You do. Junior Witter has a big English flag on his shorts. It's just that the whole English/British thing isn't as much of an issue to English people. To the Scots and welsh the English are the oppressive warmongering neighbours and they do try to distance themselves by calling themselves Scottish/welsh instead of British. To call yourself British would be to accept the English as friends, but alot of them are too bitter and twisted to do that. They see us as rivals, we're their Germany/France/Argentina - and obviously we have bigger fish to fry for it to be an issue for us. They're ungrateful ****s if you ask me, Scotland would be alot worse off without England.

English fighters certainly don't try to distance themselves from being classed as English.

Oddly enough this is discussed on this forum daily. The way I see it, I try to just say "from the UK" it tends to alleviate getting into an argument. Try it.
