its ridiculous how some fighters get pushed aside after losing a fight.
Boxing emphasised too much on a loss

You also suck in general, "sooky sooky 5 dorra"
Seriously though I agree with you, that's the one thing I really admire about MMA. You aren't pushed to the side and called a bum just because of the loss, andit doesn't totally send you down the ladder as well.Comment

Not everyone though, I mean look at someone like Antonio Margarito he has five loses even if most were early he gots 5 loses and he still gets shots at belts and ****. But I do agree they put to much ephasise on it, but I think it's more of the fan like how everyone immediatley writes someone off as a possible person to beat Floyd if they lose or anything. When Paul Williams got that loss he was written off as being able to beat Floyd and that don't make sense b/c his loss was to Quintana and not to Floyd and it's been said time and time again STYLES make FIGHTS, so just cause someone beat someone else doesn't mean they can't beat other people in there division!!!!Comment

True but I kinda like the higher standards that boxing expects from fighters.Comment

It's something that hurts the sport. It should be about putting on good shows, not about protecting fighters. If two fighters put on a very good fight both of them 'win' anyway. The losing guy will want to be seen again.
This was a point Gary Shaw made one time. I know he's not the most popular guy in the world, but he had a point.Comment

I think it motivates fighters to be at their best at all times because they know they may only get one shot, which i enjoy. It also shows the real skill in boxing and thats why boxing has elite fighters, where as in MMA for the most part its a crap shoot. I think no dominant stars will end up hurting MMA in the long run.Comment
