Right now, 99% of the boxing world is demanding this fight, and what does Floyd say on national tv when asked about a potential fight with Cotto? "im not trying to call out any WW's" "Im gonna retire from boxing, boxing isnt going to retire me", "Im taking a 2yr break", etc... Whether he is scared of Cotto or not, is unknown, but u have to admit that his responses when it comes to Cotto, show that avoiding Cotto are in his best interests.

I dont think Mayweather is afraid.

It's just frustrating, if not sketchy. Would Mayweather/Mosley be scheduled right now if Mosley won? Damn right it would. Would Floyd make less money against Cotto than he did Hatton? No. Is the public demand that high for a rematch with Oscar now instead of immediately after? Nope.

So it's just annoying and frustrating as not just a Cotto fan but a boxing fan in general.

Remember when Floyd was asked, if he would fight the winner of Shane/Cotto? What was his response? "i'll fight Shane" He never once made a mention of just fighting the winner. Why?

shane would be the much harder fight for him. shane has the longer reach with power and speed. He is a stylistic nightmare for floyd. Cotto is easy. His style is tailor made for Floyd. Floyd would pick him apart all night.

It's extremely sketchy. There's no arguing that.

So that's Floyd's reason for prefering to fight Shane over Cotto? Because Shane would be the "harder" fight?

it has nothing to do with support. it has to do with defending the truth. I'm not totally happy with everything mayweather does (like being scheduled for only one fight this year) but anyone who thinks floyd is afraid of Cotto considering the fights he has been in and won, is kidding themselves and just hating. I would accept the argument that floyd isn't taking the responsibility of being the p4p #1 in the sport and thus he is one of the biggest, if not the biggest representative of the sport of boxing and he should be fighting the top fighters as frequently as possible to give back the fans what they have given him like 50 million in 2007.
