I personally don't think that Mayweather is afraid to fight Cotto. I just see him looking for the fight with the biggest paycheck. Why else would he be fighting DLH again? Im fine with the man making as much money as possible, at the same time though I wish he would fight one of the top WW's because right now that's what his critics got on him. I agree that Floyd would probably beat all the top WW's, but I just wish he would fight one of those guys mainly Cotto to further expand his legacy and leave the critics little to have on him.

I agree with your post 100%, but it never fails.....If he beats Cotto there will always be another name out there for him to fight. It never fails.

u c what Floyd has 2 be afraid of is if he loses the fight he will not live up to his own hype. Sort of like Taylor saying Pavlik was just average when he was fighting guys like Spinks and Ouma. Or Williams whos average opponent was a bum then he fought a young hungry Quintana. I dont think Floyd is scared though just think he knows it will be a tough fight and he doesnt like to fight.

Yeah your right even though Cotto is a good world class boxer there will be people on here that will say he's a bum if Mayweather beats him.

Its Floyd's own words and actions that make it seem as if he has something to fear. First he claims that he is not impressed with Cotto, and has no interest in fighting him. He wrote Cotto off in both the Judah and Mosley fight, by saying that Cotto would get KO'd. Right now, 99% of the boxing world is demanding this fight, and what does Floyd say on national tv when asked about a potential fight with Cotto? "im not trying to call out any WW's" "Im gonna retire from boxing, boxing isnt going to retire me", "Im taking a 2yr break", etc... Whether he is scared of Cotto or not, is unknown, but u have to admit that his responses when it comes to Cotto, show that avoiding Cotto are in his best interests.
