Hell, he even tried to block Winky Wright from getting to fight Shane Mosley back in 2004 by offering a 50/50 split to Shane for a third fight after he was down 0-2 in the count.

There are a lot of things that Oscar has done that are ridiculously selfish, and none of them have really been very good for the sport.
im gonna have to spank you if you keep talking **** about oscar...

he didnt cut in, floyd wouldnt have fought cotto anyway....

yeah because fighting hopkins was such a privilege...

actually shane wanted the 50/50 split to fight DLH again....and oscar wouldnt give it to him...and we all know they are 1-1....

If DLH wasnt around, boxing wouldnt have any momentum...he also carried the sport when tyson died down....

i wish oscar would retire but anyone with an ounce of plain and basic common sense would know that mayweather would never fight cotto. oscar has nothing to do with floyds ducking. the man refuses to fight any real threat.

This is not true Dwiens. He still offered him 60/40 and out of pride Shane went with Winky.

                No he didn't.

Shane's ego and pride wouldn't allow him to take the short end of the money with De La Hoya, so he was going to fight Mayorga instead. With Mayorga losing to Spinks in December 2003, a Mosley-Mayorga match lost some of its luster.

Mosley, to his credit, then decided to fight Winky.

What the hell is with all the hate. Oscar has done so much for this sport and although he hasn't taken away some great bouts he has made his bouts mainstream which brings in new fans and adds to the exposure of this sport. It will be sad to see him go.

Shane fought Winky BECAUSE he wasn't offered an even cut against Oscar.
