But that's like in the last 20 years.

I dont think Cotto is special, but there is nothing outrageous in not getting in the top 5 so fast.

Also some of those names had a very short stay at the top 5 (Tyson, Corrales, both Taylors, Nunn...), Cotto seems to me will be solid for many years.

BTW, I am extremely proud of never rating Jermain Taylor in my top 5. Good guy, but he shoiuld have never been there

I stand corrected. Good list to be a part of though. 2-5 on the p4p list now didn't do it.

Cotto doesn't need to be in the top p4p list to prove that he has done something, I mean being ranked high in his division is better than being ranked in the sport because I mean is Mayweather going to fight Calzaghe, NO he isn't and both of them are p4p champions, the important thing is being ranked high in the division he is fighting. He isn't Mayweather that the only thing he can say to protect his gay coward ass is "I'm p4p king".

How many fighters have accomplished what Cotto has recently?

And you referenced Boxrec? Why bother?
Sultan Ibragimov's win over Holyfield was pretty impressive..

                @ PR BOXER

When does being highly ranked in your Division become Better than Highly Ranked in your Entire Sport...

                Like I said before

                for example:
In the NBA The Washington Wizards are 2 in their Division
But are 18th in the league ratings.....

Therefore they are not consider one of the best in the NBA..

You see what I am saying:

Cotto is number 2 in his Divison
But he has never been a top 5 fighter in the Sport,,

But Why hasnt Cotto ever been a top 5 Fighter in the (Sport/League) of Boxing
                after 7 years of fighting...

Cotto is a Special Fighter though

Just not a TOP 5 CALIBER FIGHTER A.K.A Elite Fighter

Being ranked high in his division is better than being ranked high in the sport because he will fight the fighters of the welterweight division, he won't fight fighters of other divisions, you should understand that if you are smart enough to get what I mean.

If you believe This then Good for you...

Sadly, thats a lonely Position to Take...

because In a Sport of Hundreds and Thousands People maybe Millions
I rather be ranked in the TOP 5

than a divison of the sport...

But you can believe what you wish...

But i think the Giants like being Superbowl Champions
                    rather than NFC champions

i think the Spurs like being NBA champions
                    instead of WestERn conference Champions

LOL u know better than that...

My definition of special is more restrictive of your definition of elite.

Some kind of WOW that you feel, when you see them fight.

Obviously if some dont know **** about boxing, they will go WOW for any succesful slugger.
