        When I first opened the thread, I was against it.

        But then came some good points from all sides, and I realized that just because I'm lazy and content with less rounds, something hit me;

        15 rounds favours the intelligent boxers, and to a degree tough sluggers.

        Hopkins would have been considered one of the greatest of all time if he were fighting 15 rounders.
        Today, to answer Addison's notion that we don't know who's the best championship rounds-fighter, I would put my money on B-Hop.
        He kills people in the last few rounds.

        Taylor would be a non-issue if the fights were 15 rounders.

        All those chess-like fighters; Lewis, Klitschko, Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez etc would probably be more dominant as they would have the time needed to execute the things they created openings for in the first 10-11 rounds.

        Addison also makes a brilliant point when he says fighters today doesn't fight nearly as often as they used to back in the day.

        The hydration question is a legitimate issue though.
        There is no way any person can consume as much water as he is sweating, so the dehydration will be more severe over a 15-rounder.

        However, it has been said that many punches to the head equals more damage than a knockout punch, so any safety-issues will in effect be rendered insignificant when we take into consideration that the fighters are now using bigger, more padded gloves- which equals more damage sustained before a knockout.

        Excellent thread- good discussion.

          Yeah, people forget that the only thing worse than a boring 12 round fight is a boring 15 round fight. Not only it lasts longer, but it is fought at an even slower pace.
