  • Where Are Ricky's Fans?

They were rampant pre-Dec. 8th. I really dont see any talking about Hatton. Floyd is smart in this in that losing, let alone getting KO'ed is detrimental to your fanbase. Boxing is a funny sport, one minute people ride with you the next they dont. Funny so many said the first Oscar fight was SO close, but amazingly nobody wants to see it, funny how that works huh, fact is it wasnt close.

Well most are fed up with the Witter farce and a lot of them buggered off i think. I am a ricky fan, but i dont chat about him cause he aint up to much right now is he?

I think a decent amount of his fans are still around they have just gone quiet at the moment I also think a lot of people lost interest in him after he lost his undefeated label also some of the "fans" just wanted to see mayweather get beat or an englishman beating an american and like t-97 said some are also annoyed about the way he is handling junior witter atm.

im not exactly a hatton fan but what can i say?

i think on the forums here at least, there were more people getting behind hatton just because they wanted to see mayweather lose rather than being hatton fans.

but im sure his true fans still love him...but he's british...and over there im sure he's the floyd mayweather...or close to it.

for the record I DO want to see the de la hoya/mayweather rematch because it WAS close (on my card i had it 115-113 De la hoya).

only fear i have is de la hoya's endurance...he began to fade around the 7th/8th round and i believe its what cost him the fight on the official cards...he did much better than many expected.

going against the majority i would say (for me) it was one of my favorite fights last year. i really liked seeing their clash of styles unfold.

dont get me wrong, i love a good old fashioned 12 round brawl but i also like to see strategic boxing as well...

it was tough...i really believe oscar had it.

with floyd sr in his corner he MIGHT be able to pull it off this time...

wow you sound just like me. Osacr lost imo but twas close. The reason he faded last time was due to inactivity which is why hes havin a tune up this time. This was one of my favourite fights last year as well and i look forward to the rematch.

This annoys me because in my eyes that was a very good and very close fight I don't care what anybody says If people say they will not pay to see the rematch they are lying.

I think DLH should be fresher this time around and won't run outta steam so earlier I think DLH could beat mayweather If he fights at a high level.

                i agree.

i liked that fight last year.

i think for REAL boxing fans they knew what they were getting...a strategic boxing match...not taylor/pavlik I...

maybe the casual fans thought so...

                that was a good fight...
for me its in the top 3 of 07 for sure

Frank, not that Pavlik Taylor II was a horrible fight but 'real boxing fans' appreciated Pavlik Taylor I more so than II for reasons that dont need to be explained.

Hatton last fought two months ago and isn't fighting again until May. So the only people going on about him are the ones who say he is ducking Witter.
