While there may be a lot of things against Mayweather, there is still more against De La Hoya. Age is a big factor for Oscar whether he is looking better or not. He isn't as fast as he was. He isn't as sharp as he was and he just plain isn't as good as he was. Mayweather still has all his attributes working well for him. Unlike De La Hoya he is still fast, sharp, fit and as good as he has ever been.

I personally don't see even the slightest bit of good coming from this fight. It will go exactly the same as the last fight went but probably even more in favour of Mayweather. You mentioned in your first post that De La Hoya now has the advantage of having fought Mayweather and will know what to do and what worked. The only problem there is Mayweather also has that exact same advantage and he, unlike De La Hoya, will be able to actually use that better. Like it or not, De La Hoya is not going to learn and change enough at this stage of his career to beat Mayweather. He is neither active or young enough. 35 actually is old for a WW.

At this stage Oscar will simply only get slower and less able to see, and fire off when he sees, his openings. When you hit your mid thirties in the lower weights you don't suddenly get quicker or sharper. Unfortunately, and I wish I saw something different, this fight will be even worse than the last one.

You make all good points.... which is why, at the end of the day.... and end of the post... I still pick Floyd to win...

Reed you are right about PBF saying he has lost his desire and making all that money plus a lot of people thinking he is unbeatable. The biggest and most important part you left out to me is PBF fighting to beat his father. Sr. training De la Hoya is going to be De la Hoya's biggest disadantage. PBF is going to be so determinded not to lose to his father and look great doing it. Roger will have motivation also because of his beef with Sr. I know you picked PBF to win and so am I but I think he just might really try to **** De la Hoya up because of his father.

All that said still a bull**** fight. PBF vs. Cotto. PBF still my favorite fighter regardless.
