I like to ALWAYS try and see both sides to any situation... everyone here knows I created an entire thread devoted to steve forbes winning... But I wanna talk about Oscar and Floyd II... Does anyone in this forum think that Oscar doesn't want to win this fight? Anyone who fights Floyd, will be motivated beyond motivated to be the FIRST to do something... It doesnt matter if Antonio Tarver does another thing for the rest of his career.. He'll always be remembered for his victory over Jones... Does anyone notice that Oscar is 35, but that floyd IS 31? Can age REALLY be used to down play Oscar? He's older, but is it THAT much of an age advantage?
Does anyone here think that Freddie Roach is a better trainer to beat Floyd jr. .... than Floyd Sr. is? No matter what you guys all had on your score cards at home for the fight... I myself had Floyd well ahead... but that WAS the closest that Judges have ever had him to losing a fight...
Oscar also has now been in the ring with Floyd... He does know what to expect... He also knows what WAS working... and what wasn't... Oscar didnt win all those titles because he doesn't know how to box, how to win, or how to beat someone.. And Ill be honest, that WAS the best Ive seen Oscar in a long time... You could tell, he WANTED to knock floyd out... and I think floyd knew it..
What happens is, you fight a certain style for so long... (Floyd) you win for so long... people eventually start finding little things, to get to you... Floyd still wins... but people are smart.. they adapt.. they learn.. they observe.. they try things, and some of them start working.. they test.. and they test.... and Oscar, has tested already...
Floyd looked in the camera, with a serious look of concern.. as he was putting his hands through therapy.. and said "My bodys breakin down.... seriously".. hes also said... " Ive accomplished so much, I dont have that desire anymore".. Hes said it his last two fights...
And how many fighters have we seen in the past, that were DOMINANT in there time... start getting caught up in the limelight, and the money and just .... BAM. Roy jones? Mike Tyson? etc etc... How dominant were they... then you start gettin money... you start thinking your unbeatable, you literally believe it.. so does everyone else.. Ive seen it WAY to much in the past... Floyd is Setting himself UP for failure....
