until ufc is around for as long as boxing, i am not really worried about anything! a sport that is new and fresh is always going to steam roll on ground level! the key is to make it last, and remain popular through the ups, and downs. until they make it at least say i dunno, 25 years it remains to be seen ulitmately how well they will really do. even still, 25 is a drop in the bucket in relation to boxings longevity!

what needs to happen is DLH vs Anyone(Floyd) on a NATIONAL tv station, and get a whole bunch of sponsors, backing and money behind. They need to settle for the 6 or 7 mill they will get instead of 10-15 and bring boxing back. Have a good 1 or 2 fight undercard and it will make a comeback. Who knows, maybe the winner or even both fighters can get to sponsor for other companies and make more money like that. but something needs to happen. Or **** it, put Kelly on National TV, he will appeal to white America
(which ultimatley decides what going to happen on a NATIONAL tv standpoint, just look at the contender). Let him fight a bum or 3 and knock them all out and get buzz back. Just do SOMETHING. I ant stand MMA'ers they know nothing about fighting.

i dont know if dlh vs floyd would be a good fight to put on national tv even though they are two of boxings biggest stars. after the fight the people who dont really have a love for boxing and are just in it for excitement and the ko''s would be turned off i think.

Well Kelly Pavlik, Mike Katsidis, Juan Diaz and Kelly Pavlik need to be in the Main Event for 4 Saturdays a year.

they could make a good amount of money doing sponsor spots and get their per fight purse.

Boxing actually gets broadcast in Britain on nationwide terrestrial channel ITV. The Audley Harrison vs. Danny Williams fight was watched by 7 million people!!!!

Amir Kahn has had audiences of 8 million for his fights!!!

Yeah the big fights go to subscription cable channels Setanta sports and sky sports but ones with British fighters like Calzaghe or Hatton often get rebroadcast the following week on ITV or BBC.

Any network that has a thug like **** website sponsored Kimbo Slice as their poster boy along with his crew in their **** advertising shirts has no integrity.
I dont see why it has any effect on boxing any more than on any othe rsport or tv programme. The guy writing that article is a failed boxing journalist getting paid to cover mma so what do you expect him to write!

Not against Floyd, alot of casual fans bought into the De La Hoya/Mayweather 1 hype and were SEVERELY disappointed with what they got. Trust.
