His defense is a little leaky, he gets hit by straight and looping punches, Pavlik would hit him with the straight right all night.

I'd still like to see the fight.. That fight would have zero defense and plenty of blood. I'd be shocked to see it go 5.

The difference is, Lee gets hit with straight and looping shots whereas Duddy gets hit with every shot in the book, Lee would knock him out or win a brutally one sided decision.

Andy Lee: "I'm Ready For Pavlik Now"

In a recent interview with the Irish Voice, unbeaten middleweight prospect Andy Lee (15-0, 12KOs) proclaimed he was ready to fight WBC/WBO champion Kelly Pavlik (33-0, 29KOs). According to a report in the paper and confirmed by Lee, there was a recent meeting in New York between Lee, his manager/trainer Emanuel Steward and Pavlik's promoter Bob Arum. [details]

As I said, a Lee-Pavlik fight could happen before any of us expected.

It's too soon for Lee, he gets hit by straight shots too much, Pavlik's right hand would connect too much and would ultimately knock him out.

In Lee's last fight he was barely hit at all. The compubox stats for punches landed by Falliga were ridiculously low, in the region of 30%. Not one significant punch was landed by Falliga.

I've watched all of Andy's fights and he hasn't been susceptible to straight rights or looping shots. He may carry his hands low on occasion but he certainly makes up for it with movement.

Can you remember in which fight these straight and looping shots occurred?

“But I don’t think that I have to wait until the end of the year to challenge for a world title as I know that I am ready to go for it now.”

He isn't necessarily referring to Pavlik.

I watched the Falliga fight, he was fighting to survive but he still managed to hit Lee a few times with looping and straight shots, when Lee opens up to throw his combinations he leaves himself open too much and Pavlik's right hand will catch him a lot.

Gonna be an interesting fight when it happens.

Andy will gladly except the underdog tag.

Indeed, but after the Falliga fight, Steward said he was negotiating with Top Rank for a fight with the winner of Pavlik-Duddy by the end of the year and what other middleweight title holders do Top Rank represent?
