If Wladimir was American and black, would he be more accepted as a top heavyweight?

Oscar is very popular with the fans, but never got the recognition from the media that Mayweather receives.Comment

One more thing about Wlad he is not destroying guys in what is a weak division people. And what about Larry he still dose not gets the respect he should haveComment

But your comment is a perfect example of what I mean! What does he need to do? Lewis, Holmes, Holyfield and Tyson didn't KO all their opponents either.Comment

Remember, Mayweather was in a small weight class, super featherweight, yet got a lot of positive attention from the sports media, even though he's a boring fighter. But we never hear about the much more exciting Guerrero and Linares.

And he did not get that much attention when he was a Fw he didnt have a big ppv match untill he fought Gatti.
What about Jerry Conney he got more attention then larry before they fought.Comment

The reason Guerrero and Linares aren't currently talked about as much as Floyd Jr. is because they haven't won world titles in 5 weight classes and dominated the sport in the process.
What the **** have they done up to now to deserve the kind of status in the sport Floyd has earned?
Don't get it twisted.
And Mayweather's fights at super-feather were never boring. Floyd has been involved in very few boring fights altogether. The 'boring' accusation is a fallacy, the last resort of desperado Mayweather detractors who have nothing left to cling to.
As for Oscar not getting widespread media recognition --- BULL****.Comment

Considering Floyd was in a very close fight with a past prime De La Hoya (some thought he lost), it's very likely that prime De La Hoya would have defeated prime Floyd!Last edited by The Hammer; 06-25-2008, 10:14 AM.Comment

But he would have boxed the **** out of De La Hoya at lightweight or junior-welter if they had been at those weights in the same timeframe.
Oscar would have been on his ass.
Floyd Jr. would also have won clearly at welter.Comment
