If Wladimir was American and black, would he be more accepted as a top heavyweight?

Holyfield said after his fight with Sultan last October that he has a confusing style, and that's why he threw far fewer punches than usual.
That's why the HW division in general is ignored by the mainstream.

It doesn't matter if Wlad KOs Thompson early like he did to Austin, KOs him in the mid-rounds like he did to Brock, or goes the distance like he did with Ibragimov, some people will be very negative and critical of him.

No matter what he does, some people are never going to like him. If only he were American and black, the US media and boxing fans wouldn't be so hard on him...

has nothing to do with him not begin American or Black he just a boring fighter sometimes and his dose not have a flashy personality that most people thing a HW Champ should have.

Look at LH he is one of the greatest HW of alltime and he's Black and American as someone said he gets no respect.

Prior to 2005, you likely had no idea who floyd mayweather jr was, infact, back in 1998, mayweather should have been an up and coming superstar with his accomplishments at such a young age, that never happened, mayweather hardly got any attention until his PPV fight with Gatti, only hardcore fans of the sport really knew who he was.

Kelly Pavlik is everywhere, hes all over ESPN the Magazine, he was in SI a couple of times. I enjoy reading things about pavlik, he gets alot of attention from media outlets, so this is another lie. You are a bad liar, and obviously have only been a fan of the sport for probably the last couple years or so.

              No, I'm not a liar.

When Hagler became middleweight champion, he quickly became a household name. Most people I know have heard of Jermain Taylor, but not of Kelly Pavlik. The American media seems to prefer black athletes over white, it's an example of "political correctness" being taken too far.

Prejudice has reversed itself during the past century. The best example: all the negativity poor Wladimir gets for his "unforgivable whiteness", when he should be celebrated as the world's best heavyweight.

Tunney is an insecure lil f@ggot isn't he?

WTF make that ***** think Vlad would more popular if he were Black??

                LOL

It just goes to show how far removed from reality racists like him are..

Why didn't he say White or Hispanic?

If Vlad were a White American he'd be worshipped as a God...3 KO's and all.

If he were Hispanic he'd be bigger than Jesus.

If he was American AND white.... HE would be viewed as a borderline God by most fans and draw some criticism from the media and boxing enthusiasts. If he were black and AMerican... he would be treated with a little more respect than Vlad, but receive more criticism than a white american.

No, Hispanic atheltes are also treated unfairly by the media. Cotto deserves a lot more respect and recognition than he ever gets, while the less deserving Mayweather is treated like a god. Why do we hear so little about top fighters like Mijares and Linares?
