The round was close, but Taylor won it with his activity and did land a couple good shots. Winky wasn't really doing anything. I could see it for Winky, but I felt it went to Taylor.
Im torn between responding to this thread which will bump it and ignoring it because its such an old argument that only people who watched in Taylorvision saw as an unfair outcome.
Let it go son. I didnt see Taylor admitting it when Winky CLEARLY beat him.
I'm sorry, but I still don't see what everybody else seems to be seeing. I rewatchd Taylor-Pavlik 2 (after watching in Chinese) and I just don't see how Taylor lost. Using clean effective punching, Taylor dominated. THe judges didn't even know what type of fight they liked, HBO showed the scores were incredibly inconsistent.
Round 1: Kelly Pavlik definitely won
Rounds 2-8: Jermain won 5 out of these 6 rounds
Round 9: Kelly edged this round out
Round 10: Jermain Taylor wins BIG. Judges Moretti and Trowbridge BOTH give this round to Pavlik
Round 11: Kelly Pavlik by a wide margin
Round 12: This round I could see going even or in Jermain Taylor's way
My score: 115-114, Jermain Taylor.
I don't know how Dave Moretti scored it 117-111, I think he should retire.
End rant
If you cant see how Taylor lost thats ok. Thats why the judges picked are picked, and why you're a fan of the sport. The judges see things that a casual fan cant. They're trained to truly gauge the winner of a fight. They do falter at times, due to corruption or back hand deals, but all in all they are trained and paid to provide a ruling based on the rules of the sport. Trust me, Taylor lost.
