    Warning: 132525th rant about Pavlik-Taylor 2

I'm sorry, but I still don't see what everybody else seems to be seeing. I rewatchd Taylor-Pavlik 2 (after watching in Chinese) and I just don't see how Taylor lost. Using clean effective punching, Taylor dominated. THe judges didn't even know what type of fight they liked, HBO showed the scores were incredibly inconsistent.

Round 1: Kelly Pavlik definitely won
Rounds 2-8: Jermain won 5 out of these 6 rounds
Round 9: Kelly edged this round out
Round 10: Jermain Taylor wins BIG. Judges Moretti and Trowbridge BOTH give this round to Pavlik
Round 11: Kelly Pavlik by a wide margin
Round 12: This round I could see going even or in Jermain Taylor's way

    My score: 115-114, Jermain Taylor.

I don't know how Dave Moretti scored it 117-111, I think he should retire.

    End rant

i thought 10-12 could all be easily given to Pavlik, especially 11 and 12 which i felt he won decisively.

And 2-8 is actually 7 rounds, of which Pavlik definetly won at least 2 IMO.

It was definetly a really close fight that could have gone either way, i just think Pavlik won it with his activity and a very strong finish

Judges having inconsistent scores with one another is somethign evident in almost every scorecard in history. I think the judges considered the fact that Pavlik outlanded Taylor by wide margins. Also, they weren't swayed by the fact that Taylor's punches look aesthetically more pleasing. Wind up, telegraphed flurries. Pavlik's punches are straight and appear to do less damage. If you look at the damage done to body and damage plainly evident on each fighter's face it is clear that Kelly was in fact doing the most damage throughout the fight in addition to simply outjabbing and outlanding Taylor. Taylor's right eye was barely open. All fight Long pavlik pushed taylor's head back, and while it wasn't as visible and as flashy as the instances in which taylor did it.. the accumulation served to cause greater damage physically and amount to a greater # landed. I definitely understand the confusion though.

Taylor ran out of gas in round 8, Pavlik came to fight all 12 and I think that is really the bottom line!!!!

this is true, what's interesting is Jack Leow anticipated Taylor's stamina perfectly. Also, that body punch Pavlik put on taylor near the ropes at the end of round 11? I'm pretty sure you can see Taylor's knees begin to buckle. He fell slightly to the right then lunged at Pavlik to clinch so he wouldn't fall.

Sir, Pavlik clearly lost round 10 and I also had him losing round 11, you can't win a round cause of one good body punch at the end of the round.

If you had Pavlik losing round 11 your opinion is VOID. ANd round 10 was extremely close, hence 2 judges giving it to Pavlik so....
