From all indications, Pavlik wants to defend the middleweight title in his next fight. There are a lot of bigger opportunities if he moves up but I don't think that will be next.

I also don't think it will be a high risk fight. He's coming off fights with Miranda and Taylor twice. I'd guess Lorenzo.

        No Pavlik-Duddy in June

After days of negotiating that were going so bad that talks had already been started to match Kelly Pavlik and Giovanni Lorenzo in June, a financial deal was reached late last night to match Pavlik and John Duddy.

However, very early on Sunday morning, the cut that Duddy suffered in his bout against Walid Smichet was deemed too deep and severe and he will not be fighting against Pavlik in June, according to Team Duddy.

The likely opponent is Giovanni Lorenzo, according to Team Pavlik.

The bout also might not be held at Madison Square Garden. With Lorenzo the likely opponent and not Duddy, the bout might be moved to Ohio or at least closer to Pavlik's hometown of Youngstown, Ohio.

Good reporting Mike. Lorenzo is even less qualified than Duddy, but at least not nearly as many people have seen him struggle in fights that he was supposed to coast in.

Lorenzo was supposed to fight Abraham on the undercard of that fight. Damn you Duddy. You ruined a great chance for Abraham and Pavlik to fight afterwards.

Let's hope that Abraham is still on that undercard.

The bout also might not be held at Madison Square Garden
....Well atleast Ohio is closer to here so I may have a better chance of going.

Duddy already hinted at not being ready for Pavlik yet. So they go and they price themselves out of the bout. I can't blame him Duddy still needs more seasoning and his time will come eventually.

Pavlik willl MURDER Duddy. I found it funny that the only highlights of Duddy HBO could manage were of him getting his ass kicked by a nobody. Now that's what they want to use to hype Duddy up to fight Pavlik? Wtf? Watching that, I thought he was gonna be KOed in the highlight reel. Pavlik will take Duddy's head off. Duddy is nothing more than a mix of Gatti-Ward. He fights like Ward, takes hits like Gatti. He'll have a short career.
