So..........you have Joe Calzaghe, an intimidating Dane boxer/puncher, and the supporting cast to some short lived comedy sitcom.
Well with both Taylor and Miranda having weight problems and moving up they are SMW's would you call Roy Jones a Middleweight even though he moved up? I would call him a Light Heavy.

What about Holyfield he moved up from Cruiser, they WERE middlewights but there are putting muscle on and are growing still. They are going to/ already do fight at SMW for the foreseable future therefore they are SMW's. Pavlik want sto remain at middle so he is still a middleweight.

      MW 4-
      - Pavlik
      - Taylor
      - Abraham
      - Sturm

      SMW 4
      -Calzaghe
      -Kessler
      -Bute
      -Mundine

Obviously SMW is a lot stronger.

lol Pavlik and Taylor aren't Middleweights.

They've fought at weight above 160 one time. That automatically makes them natural super middleweights.[/Sarchasm]

In reality, I don't know why I bumped a thread with this many ****** responses from trigger happy boxing fans.

Well Taylor has said that he will never fight at 160 again, he was the one that stipulated that the rematch be at 166, so I think he is now a SMW.

Pavlik is a MW and should stay that way as long as he can (probably about 5 more years.)

I think earlier in the thread you started saying that you can't judge a MW against a SMW, because of the advantages of being naturall bigger etc etc.

Then you have gone on to confuse me.

Will/Would Pavlik retain his power at 168 or LHW is the real question.

I think it's difficult to gauge Pavlik's power at that weight as it stands..........simply because it's been established that Taylor doesn't deal with big punches well. An old Hopkins had him on ***** street in the first fight.

Hopkins was never known as a power puncher despite his knockouts.

                  Yes that's simply a fact.

Your whole "The MW stars are now top SMW's" idea is laughable.

Although Froch is a threat to some extent.

Sure they could make a fight rough with Pavlik, lol they're super middleweights and have had the experience fighting the bigger guys.

You're trying to assimilate the MW stars into the SMW mix..........when in reality they haven't even fought at that weight before except for once.

Even without Pavlik and Taylor. Calzaghe, Kessler, Mundine, Bute are a lot better than the top 4 at MW.

Also bring in up and coming talent. I say its the best division, rivalling welters.
