If you think ww is the best division in boxing, you cant disagree that smw is the hardest hitting in the world. you've got
    kessler
    miranda
    froch
    lacy
    inkin
    bute
    and soon to have pavlik.
plus you got semi big punches like taylor, pascal, green etc.
I just love the smw division.
In a way its good joe's gone as it gives alot of other fighters to get a title thus making them fight each other, because if joe was there they would have to fight him and none of them would because they know they would all loose.

Hias last two fight were at 170lbs and he was in the ring AT 192lbs in his last one. I would not be surprised if Pantera is the bigger than all the other current top 168lbers.

He is but i think he would look average size against a guy like mikkel.
Edisons genetics must be really good as he builds loads of muscle and doesnt even lift weights, imagine what he'd look like ifhe were to lift??

But I consider Taylor, Miranda and Pavlik Middleweights.

So..........you have Joe Calzaghe, an intimidating Dane boxer/puncher, and the supporting cast to some short lived comedy sitcom.
Miranda is already at SMW and Taylor stipulated the 166 catchweight for a reason, he never wants to fight at MW again. Pavlik is a MW though, and probably will be for some time, unless he's offered big money to move up.

Although Froch is a threat to some extent.
Bute would kick all of their asses (From the iffy contenders list)

Lucien Bute is the real deal, and you will know in time when he does something.

Miranda is not a middleweight though, he has always been a very big middleweight who before fighting at middleweight has been as high as 170-175 lbs.

He comes at fightnight as a Cruiserweight.

What a division. I think this is better than the welterweights now. Especially with Kelly and Jermain moving up. Kelly will likely have to fight Joe C at SMW. When they fight.
I dont think Pavlik is going to be at 168 for a couple of years. Kessler and Calzaghe are tremendous I dont know alot about the other guys it'll be interesting to see Taylor against them.

LMAO at the guy who said Miranda would win a belt at 168.

It's very close. Even counting Oscar in the mix, SMW is nearly as deep but with much younger talent.

RWK, Miranda has already fought at 168 and physically cannot make middleweight. Taylor just fought at 166 and now enters SMW. They're both SMW now, though even so neither jump into the top five.
