I don't see how Pavlik is undefeated. All he throws are basic 1-2's

Have you seen any fights of his aside from against Taylor? Pavlik has a good body attack but hasn't really utilized in his last coupled fights.

Watch his fights against Fulgencia or McCart where is infighting. He proves to be a very good infighter with an array of punches. But that hasn't been his game plan. He and Loew knew Taylor has speed advantage and staying close enough to throw hooks and uppercuts in the middle of the ring would be disadvantageous.

Pavlik is past the point of being exposed. He could lose but he is a very good fighter, rightfully cracking some people's top ten pound for pound lists (even before his second defeat of Taylor).

it's very easy to monday morning quarter back the guy, but to get in the ring and do what he has done at 25 years old speaks volumes about who he is, and what he is about. if you don't like the kid thats fine, but to say he sucks, or is unskilled is a ****ing joke, and if you really believe that than you are not a real boxing fan, and need to stfu! furthermore, to get off the deck like he did in the 1st taylor fight is something most dudes would or could not have. he does alot of little things that many who don't REALLY know the sport will never see. no matter how long, or how many fights you watch! most dudes here that run there mouths about **** they don't have a clue about really need to learn and realize how much of a fool they look like to people that know the deal.

Pavliks 1-2 is like the michael jordan fadeaway or a great closers fastball...u know its coming, but theres not a whole lot you can do about it.

Another reason why Pavlik is undefeated, pound for pound, i'd say he's the best finisher in the game. when his opponent is hurt, he puts them to sleep.

I think pavlik has already defeated tougher competition comparatively in Taylor. I don't think Monzon has ever beaten a fighter as good as Taylor in his entire career even for his time.
Monzon, one of the most overrated of all time???!!! Where in the hell did you get the idea that he is overrated? Have you seen many of his fights?

Monzon was one hell of a fighter and is often underrated. Everything he did, he did perfectly and without any fuss. He had great basic technique with good speed, fantastic leverage, great chin, very, very good defense which came about from being quite unorthodox and awkward and all this came behind a killer jab and incredible right hand that was difficult to catch. His jab set up everything in his fights and it being so long and actually very hard won him most of his fights.

Monzon beat so many fighters better than Taylor that what you're trying to say is simply laughable! If you had actually studied some of the fighters he beat or seen them fight you might know that. Taylor was just KO'd and then beaten on points by a poor mans version of Monzon who really didn't actually have half the good qualities of Monzon. Monzon would have destroyed Taylor.

Have you even seen any of these guys fight? Rodrigo Valdez x 2, Tony Mundine, Jose Angel Napoles, Tony Licata, Emile Griffith x 2, Nino Benvenuti x 2, or what about the baddest of all 'Philly' fighters Bennie Briscoe?

To say the guys above don't equal an incredible list of fighters would be one of the most daft things ever said on this forum! Every one of them are HOF type fighters! Valdez was the unheralded middleweight who without Monzon in the picture would have dominated and been considered as a worthy holder of Monzons place. He was easily one of the best ever fighters out of Columbia. Maybe the best.

Everyone knows the Griffith story so I won't have to go into that despite saying he fought more title fight rounds than any other fighter in history!

Napoles? Considered by many to be the greatest welter after Ray Robinson. Tony Mundine is considered as one of the best ever Australian middleweights. Nino Benvenuti? Without a doubt the greatest ever fighter from Italy.

Overrated? Gimme a break!!! Learn what you're talking about first!

Bill Miller always used to say that if you learn the basices it will take you around the world if you want. With Pavlik I see a hard nosed guy who was brought up fighting, always wanting to emulate Mancini. While his style is completely different Pavlik is still a comer. He comes to fight and has the skill to satnd in there. While he is not the most skilled fighter he is extremely sound in the basics and has something that you can never be trained to have, a that being an extremely strong and motivated heart. In past times I would never see Pavlik holding a title with all of the monsters that used to run around at Middleweight. But take alot of water from the pool and it becomes shallow. Know what I mean?...............Rockin'
