I guess if Mayweather ducks someone, he is a coward. If Hatton does it, it's smart. At one point, allegedly, both Witter AND Hatton wanted the fight. Now, Hatton seems a bit timid. The money issue isn't important. If he beat him in his homecoming fight, in the U.K. on HBO TV, I doubt it gets any less views then Hatton/Lazcano gets, which is being talked about. That's a lame ass excuse.
Its very convenient to ignore who the alternatives are. Mayweather is ducking his #1 contender for an old businessman he already beat. Hatton is ducking his #1 contender for other champions(Malinaggi, Juan Diaz, Pacquiao, etc). Hatton is trying to step up, Mayweather is stepping down.

If he fights Lazcano, it could be ducking unless he signs a bigger fight soon after. IF. Still, what mayweather did to Margarito was even worse, considering Margarito was less of a *****. Mayweather has already committed his crimes.

That Margarito duck was bad, however it's a bit removed from the CURRENT situation in boxing. Nonetheless, we can agree on that. Nonetheless, he's LITERALLY staying where he's AT if he fights Manny or Juan, both SMALLER guys. Manny lsot power moving up to 130. Imagine what happens at 140? Juan just doesn't HAVE power. Holt? Lazcano? Not such GREAT matchups. I'd rather watch De La Hoya/Mayweather II, then either of those fights. Honestly.

Mayweather isn't stepping down, he's stepping back. Which is why I think it's a bad move and a duck. Regardless, it's still a LITERALLY, BIGGER guy. And atleast he's being truthful about it being a BIGGER fight, at the moment. Hatton/Lazcano isn't bigger than Hatton/Witter.

If Hatton fights Torres of Paulie, I'd have him and Mayweather in a tie for bad ducks. But he has A LOT of **** matchups he's thinking about. Holt, Lazcano, a Japenese guy I don't even remember the name of. Sounds **** to me.

Keep in mind, both Cotto and Mayweather have had big moves happening without eachother. It's only since NOVEMBER at the earliest that the fight made PERFECT sense. Witter/Hatton has been happening since Hatton started to blow up. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Clearly Hatton ducking Witter is the biggest duck in UK history. It's a natural fight between two countrymen at the top of their division. What makes it even more disgusting is that Witter has been calling Hatton's name for years and Hatton is deathly afraid to get in the ring with this man. He says he won't fighter Witter because he talks too much ****, yet that the exact tactic Hatton used to get Witter in the ring. He says Witter brings no money to the table, but that describes 99% of Hatton's opponents. You honestly think Maussa, Collazo, and Urango are huge draws? Hatton is clearly a ducker and a dodger afraid to step up to a real challenge.

Pacquiao is a superstar and a big threat, its a fight that needs to be made just like Hatton/Mayweather.

Hatton is coming off a loss, which is why it is OK for him to fight a tuneup before fighting BIGGER AND BETTER opponents than Witter. If he does move on to fight those other bums, then I will agree with you. I dont think that Hatton's past fights taken in place of witter prove ducking.

I dont think size matters in the mayweather scenario. Its like saying it would be OK for Ibragimov to fight Golota because Golota is bigger.

Hatton's career was just one big tune up for the Mayweather fight. He needs to stop with the tune ups and step up to some real fighters. This guy would be an ESPN2 FNF club fighter if he was American.

Well.. you're a fun debate and you're entitled to your opinion. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
