Pavlik has, taylor 2x, miranda, zertuche, zuninga! these guys were all very good fighters, and never stopped b4 prior. his resume vs joe's at 25 is better. just the way it is man. joe is great, but for his age kelly is not a joke as to what he has accomplished already.

2-just because joe called taylor out he is ducking him? come on man, taylor just now is moving up to smw! stop being so biased. i am a big fan of joe and kelly, but some of the stuff you present is obviously hating toward pavlik!
Pavlik is one of my favourite fighters, hes strong and has good basics but I realise he is slightly one dimensional and needs to improve a lot.

You can compare age to age all you want, but it means nothing because Joe has been inactive for long periods due to hand problems. Fair way to do it is by record, and that stands at 33-0 (29) for Pavlik and 33-0 (27) for Calzaghe. Being as Pavlik is noted as a puncher and Calzaghe isnt, I'd say people are very hypocritical when it comes to what it means to have power. Both Calzaghe and Pavlik wear people down with reasonably powerful shots and eventually KO them, so why does Pavlik have more power than Joe? The original point of this thread was to show why Pavlik could not beat Calzaghe, as some Calzaghe haters seem to derive great pleasure from stating at every oppurtunity.

Pavlik carries roughly the same ammount of power as Calzaghe at SMW (probably even less going by Saturday), and Kessler was noted as more powerful than Joe. This means Kessler is a more powerful puncher than Pavlik. Its already accepted by anyone with a brain that Pavlik cant outbox Joe to a decision, and after seeing Joe take some flush shots from the mopre powerful Kessler, I'd say Pavliks chances of a KO are slim to none. And for these reasons, Pavlike doesnt have a prayer against Calzaghe.

Agreed, would be a great fight.

I'm not a raving fan of Kelly as a fighter, I think he's very good obviously, but he really does seem like a swell guy - hard-working, a great sport, lots to admire there.
He worked his way up to those middleweight titles, think it's fair for him to string a few defences together there before moving up.

BTW, for those who dont know, Calzaghe has had hand problems his entire boxing career. As a teenager in the amatuers he was told he could never box again, personally I dont think hes done too bad for himself.

Calzaghe has fought tougher fighters than Taylor and Miranda in the past, Taylor has even ducked Calzaghe on several occassions, yet he still fought Pavlik twice....

And by asking me if Calzaghe could KO Taylor and Miranda the way Pavlik did, you sound like you are basing this whole arguement on how he performed in 2 fights, hardly a basis to form an educated opinion is it? I could always hit back with "would Pavlik dominate Lacy?" or "would Pavlik dominate Kessler?" Boxing doesnt work like that.

All this, and you are still trying to fault my logic........

pavlik has 29 ko's, not 27! age is a very fair comparison for these fighters! to say joe is better now is true of course. he would make kelly look likt the 25 yr old he is! he has had 10 more years of being a pro at this point, but at 25 kelly has a better resume than joe did, and is moving along very well! you can not compare records if the level of comp. is uneven, thats rediculous! the kid pavlik fights everyone they put him in with, and wins! he was not supposed to even beat miranda, let alone taylor acording to many! i don't care who has more power. it is really irrelevant for all of them. they all have more than enough power to hurt/ or stop one another! i love how u judge pavlik's power by saturdays fight. all the sudden it's gone because he did not ko tayor, even though he did in september? come on! the kid stopped 29 of 33. that is a very good ko pct!

The last goodish opponent Calzaghe stopped was glass jaw Mario Veit in 6 rounds, i very much doubt Calzaghe will stop Pavlik.

This is Pavlik's first major year on the scene, the fact that people expect him to take on the undisputed champ from a division above his speaks volumes to the excellent progress he is making. Lets no fault Pavlik for not kicking everyone's ass within a country mile
