this is going to sound bad but here goes..

This can either be a very competitive fight where alfonso brings his A game and gives cotto a run for his money. He has decent pop, good handspeed and a ton of heart.

On the other hand his heart my be taylor made for a one sided beating. If cotto comes to fight like he usually does he can hit gomez and stop him in the late rounds.. im not sure if gomez could take a good bodyshot.. gomez has a good chin tho..

other than that I think he stands very little chance. I think Cotto will batter Gomez and someone will step in and stop a brave Gomez from taking too much punishment.

I give Gomez about a 5-10% chance of winning. Maybe Cotto will break both his hands and have a heart attack. If that were to happen, the fight would be a toss up.

You state at the beginning of your post that you were joking, yet you end your post by stating the reasons (Good jab & toughness) why you believe Gomez can beat Cotto. This leads me to believe that your prediction was no joking matter, and that you truly believe that Gomez has a better than average chance of having his hand raised by the ref once the fight is over.
