I think Calzaghe is the best SMW ever.

I can't understand Calzaghe 'haters' like the one with the 'slap' signature.

I mean, we're all supposed to be fans of boxing on this forum and yet you can't admire or appreciate someone with the skills Calzaghe has? Hmmm.

I think he is the best 168 pounder is history as well, even the people who don't like him have to admit he's in the top 3 or 4.

Its mainly the racist ones like GoodFella whatever is name is. They dont like white fighters and hide behind this pretense of people hyping up Calzaghe.

The Brits ridicule Hopkins' record and legacy. They are hypocrites.
If Hopkins is beaten when he shows his age, then "The Slap" Slapslappy will not get any major credit for it. Only Brits will.

To dominate a guy the way that he did even of Lacy's now apparent mediocre pedigree at the elite-level; that was still a truly great performance.

And for me the fight against Kessler means he's proved all he has to. And surprise, surprise following the fight we get the chorus from the rest of the boxing world of "yeah but actually how good was Kessler". As you rightly point out we will have to see, EXACTLY how good. But you dont beat guys like Beyer, Andrade and Mundine without being a quality fighter. I think he will dominate a now very competitive SMW division.
Who did Lacy beat before facing the slapping slapartist? He was extremely overrated and it shows now. Lacy still fights the same as before. He's nothing that will add to a legacy.
You think every American thought Lacy was gonna crush Slap, but the truth is, a lot of people didn't really give a crap about this fight.

the top names did not fight him cause no one had heard of him so it was too much of a risk
It doesn't change the fact that he didn't fight the top names of that time, and is stuck with left overs in this crappy era where he will end up like an overrated slapper/fighter that looked good in a weak era.

                  Scary i know.

But Joe is destined for further greatness.

I think he will do this before retiring:

                  Hopkins

                  RJJ

                  Pavlik.

                  All fights he will win.

Accomplishment wise yes he is but i think fighters like Toney and Jones in there prime would of beat him, and also don't laugh but i think Michael Watson at his best could have took him as well.

Calzaghe might be the best SMW fighter but that's because Toney and RJJ didn't stay there too long.

If Roy had beaten Benn, Eubank and Collins he would easily be the best SMW but instead he chose to fight the Pazienza's, Bryant Brannon's and Antoine Byrd's.
The great win over Toney along with some solid wins still rank Roy highly in the division but I wouldn't put him over Calzaghe.

Toney had good wins but the humiliating loss to Roy Jones drop his rank.

I wouldn't rate Eubank, Benn and Collins over Calzaghe at SMW.
