ive watched plenty of his fights...i dont like what i see, he has struggled with very basic fighters, his power has saved him, his defense sucks....now he'll get credit for beating a once very good fighter who has looked plain as all hell in his last 3 fights and lsot to a guy with 6 fights

dont you remember his totally ****sexual way of fighting against gonzalez???....montiel cant be forgiven after that..

I remember the "****sexual" way Dlh ran from Trinidad yet you forgave him.

You don't like the guy fair enough.

I agree with that. Castillo suddenly looked like a shot fighter, but then again you almost never see a top fighter that size over 30. Mijares is one of the best pure boxers around now. A fight between him and Montiel would be excellent.

I have to say I thought he was going to beat Castillo, but I did not think he was going to dominate the fight in the fashion that he did. I know some so called boxing fans on this site don't care for the great fights and fighters the lower weights bring to the table, which is some of the dumbest **** I ever heard.

I think Montiel is one of the best fighters in the game of boxing, but sometimes in his fights he loses focus and plays around to much, but when the kid is on his game not to many fighters can beat him.
LOL...seeing as how I made a bet with you for Castillo to win, it's fair to say I was shocked with the result. I thought it was going to be a 12 round war. I was wrong. Castillo just might not have it anymore. It's too bad because he used to be a beast with good technical skills. Montiel has gotten progressively better since he got beat by Too Sharp. I want to see him fight Mijares or Nonito Donaire.

I was at that fight and I thought Montiel won. When I watched it on tv later I could agree with the decision. Gonzalez was just way bigger than him. Neither guy did much impressive that night, but at least Montiel showed some good defense. I don't think it's fair to say he ran.

Like I said I been following his career for a really long time, I was at the card when he fought Pedro Alcazar tko'd him in the 6th and Alcazar ended up dying the next day.

Ive also been a fan of Castillo for a long time, I went to alot of his early fights on Solo boxeo when the cards were on Sunday afternoons...

Montiel vs Gonzalez I remember Montiel had some pretty nasty cuts on his eyes and was acctually winning the fight early...Gonzalez was too big for him and had to much reach....

Anyways I hope Montiel gets a big fight against Mijares or Donaire.

What about Ulisis Solis heard good things about him but have not seen him fight. And lets not forget we still have both Marquez brothers, and Vasquez, i may be forgetting someone. But these guys are still at the top too.
