Miranda hit Pavlik manny times in the early rounds, and clearly too!! But that was an drained Miranda, if you watch that punch that knocked Banks out you see and hear the difference! Like a ******* fired off! Kelly was down some times, i say his chin is good but not great. The higher weight might improve his punch ressistance a bit though. Taylor was nevr known as an big puncher, so please dont think he hits harder than Miranda. Hehas better skills and his faster than Miranda, i think that makes also the difference but he doest hit harder than Miranda.

he has a very good chin. he prove it against miranda and even more against taylor. the only reason he went down against taylor was because he recieved a lot of hard punches. anyone would have fallen after that, and most would have fallen earlier and would have been much more damaged.

He’s taken many flush (best way to judge) and still pounded away, good if you ask me.

Cotto doesn't have to take punches from guys who could be light heavyweights (Miranda, Taylor).

Pavlik has a good chin, his style is to come forward and take punishment because no matter how great your defense is, when you come forward you will have to take some shots to get close.
Even a prime Tyson had to take punches to get inside.

Pavlik has underrated defense similar to Ken Norton's crab defense but he is still quite inexperienced and drops his hands at times.

Pushing back a puncher like Miranda takes some heart and an above average ability to take punches.
Pavlik didn't fold after getting hit hard by Taylor either but followed his gameplan (like Cotto against Torres).

The question is how long can he last with this kind of style? I think Pavlik will be done by his early 30's.

I rate it highly. The man takes a great shot and recovers Superbly, he aint Hagler but he has a chin!
