    Kelly Pavlik's Chin

How do you rate it? He's been down a couple of times. He did beat Miranda, but he never had to take Miranda's flushest shots on the chin. Not that I'm blaming him for not getting caught with a huge Miranda right hand, but he mostly blocked the shots. He was hurt and dropped against Jermain, and dropped versus Bronco McKart.

what? he didn't have to take miranda's flushest shots on the chin? interesting. I'm guessing you watched the fight with your eyes wide shut. He took alot of FLUSH shots. He was just really foolish with taylor and clearly taylor is the harder-faster puncher than miranda. Pavlik's face was all f#$%ed up after the miranda fight. Pavlik has an outstanding chin and it won't be tested again like it did in the Taylor fight, be sure of that. Pavlik has never suffered a KD before but now he knows. The way he fought after the KD was a first for him, I've never seen him fight that strategy before. If he fights that way for the rest of his career, there is no limit to what he could do. I can't imagine anyone beating him ever.

I'ma say great. He was down against Jermaine's shot that landed behind the ear. Like Pavlik said, I don't care who you are, you get caught in the back and your equilibrium goes. Considering he was caught back there and got tagged again in the back after he got back up, he did hold up great. His legs weren't all there but his mind was. Against Miranda, infact he did eat plenty of monster bombs, including 3 massive ones in the 2nd round. I'd say his chin is solid and if anything, it makes him more exciting if there is that chance he can be hurt.

He was dropped by ZUNIGA but it was mostly a flash KD. I dont think Mckart ever landed anything big even.

And i think he has a great chin. IT took nearly a dozen of Taylors HARDEST and FLUSHEST shots to put Pavlik down to a knee. That barrage would have sent plenty of other fighters out cold.

It's too early in Pavlik's career to say a whole lot with certainty, but I wil say his chin seems "good" so far.

The rematch with Jermain and couple more fights down the road will give us a better idea about Kelly.
