Maybe it is not mental weakness, but the fact that he throws away all of his stamina in the early rounds?

That would explain why he constantly gets the better of his opponents in the early rounds, because he is giving everything he has in those first few rounds, while his opponents are pacing themselves.

    Thoughts?
Possibly, although to me it seems that Judah has A.D.D. as well as a certain sort of mental weakness. He loses focus as much as he gets discouraged.

As I've said before I think having his daddy in his corner has kept him from developing into a mature professional, and mature adult.

Its defintently somewhat mental. In some past fight he looked at someone in the audience and almost got nailed because of it. I think Zab can fight a full 12 if his opponent is unable to back him up. When Cotto and Floyd backed him up and started throwing and landing to the body he didn't do much in return. I don't know if he can fight well going backwards.

It could also be as soon as he is hurt he doesn't want to let his hands go anymore.

I don't think anyone here would know how hard Zab trains unless they follow him a lot.

He was beating Tszyu easily? The score was 10-9 when he got squashed. He wasn't winning that fight for even six minutes.

Exactly man someone said it a few years ago and now everyone believes it and uses the same excuses. No one can know for a fact about his mental game anyway so its all speculation.

He won first round iirc. Only watched it once couldn't make myself do it again. Lol. But how about his cory spinks knockout then?

Against Cotto and Mayweather he was just beat by better fighters who could solve his style, Zab couldn't adapt because of his lack of focus and his useless cornermen. He isn't smart enough by himself.

Not sure what happened against Spinks but against Baldomir Zab underestimated Baldomir's toughness and didn't train for the fight as well as he should've.
He probably lacked conditioning in that fight, you have to prepare for a tough guy like Baldomir.

Tszyu was too much of a veteran and a puncher for young Zab, he made a rookie mistake and paid for it.

I was in the 3rd row for that fight, and Zab did win the first round and stunned KT once. Some of his fans have made that into almost having him KO'd, which is pure fiction. The Spinks KO was his most impressive win, especially since it was in St. Louis.

Okay... whatever. It's just a mystery why Zab stops winning rounds after 4 I guess.

By the way, I was hating on Margarito in the other thread, not Judah.

Alright then. Shame we will never know for sure. One thing that has rarely if at all been said about Zab is that he was outclassed or wasn't good enough which says a lot about him. He always gives great fights and should be at the top right now.
