He was also fighting very weak british competition and fighting very low grade contenders. Pavliks record is filled with many fighters that had never been stopped before.
In no way is this an insult to Calzaghe, cause he is just not a puncher, but Pavliks 29 KOs in 32 fights is much more impressive then Calzaghes 28 KOs in 32 fights, i think any reasonable guy would agree with that.
And at 168, taylor may hit a little less hard then he does now... but it wont be that much different. I agree that when Calzaghe trys to hit hard he is a hard puncher, but when taylor DOESNT try to hit hard he is a hard puncher. At one point in his career he was considered a DEVESTATING puncher, but because he didnt show that power against Ouma, Spinks, Hopkins, and Wright, the reputation left him. It certainly should have come back against Pavlik

When Calzaghe sits down him his punches they are very hard and severley underrated. In his first 32 fights he had 28 knockouts which if you compare to Pavlik (32 fights, 29 Kos) isn't much of a difference at all and this was done in a bigger weight class.
