Hopkins is having a complete mental breakdown

Hmm, I'd disagree. Of cource it could be true, but I think it's part of him being ****** instead of scared. Also, I don't agree with people that say Hopkins is extremely ******. He's smart(as a businessman and fighter), he just doesn't have the vocabulary.Comment

I don't know. I hear Calzaghe talk about his undefeated record quite a bit. He clearly cherishes it, so I imagine that he probably does have a healthy fear of losing his "0." I don't think he is afraid of Hopkins, but I'm fairly sure that he's not as confident as he says he is about embarrassing Bernard. Even at 43yrs old, Bernard has enough power and ring savvy to make a difficult fight for anyone. That said, I'm picking Calzaghe, but pulling for Hopkins.
Also, Bernard is not having a breakdown. Everything this guy does is calculated. He's trying to get in Calzaghe's head and promote this fight for all it's worth.Last edited by NachoMan; 02-12-2008, 11:45 AM.Comment

Nah I got over that one.The word ignorant and B-Hop doesn't belong in the same sentence. B-Hop to me is one of the smartest boxers today. And I do seem to notice ur h8 for him grew strong when he said "I'll never loose to a white boy" U just happen to be one of the few who took it the wrong way. It wasn't racist at all.
I kind of like Hopkins, he seems a decent human being at bottom.
But there are some issues here:
1. I know he didn't grow up a "thug," because I come from the same city he does, I know his neighborhood, which is by no means a ******, and all the kids I grew up with went to Graterford too, so I know better than other people here how bull**** his whole wannabe gangsta persona is.
2. He's simply overrated as a boxer. He lost twice to Jermain Taylor. Those fights were close, but he lost them, which is pretty sad. taylor would have been beaten senseless by Calzaghe.
3. The "whiteboy" comment was made after he walked away shamed and angry, because he saw how Joe doesn't take him seriously since the Taylor losses. He's a prideful man, and those losses bumped him from great fighter to good one, Joe knows that and Hopkins saw that Joe knows it.
4. He's not dealing well with being vastly inferior to a foreign, white, undefeated legend. It's killing his ego, what's left of it.Comment

Oi I agree with you on some things but to say Calzaghe is a legend. Its weird how people overated this fighter. I'll admit Calzaghe has skills and alot of title defenses I lost count. But title defenses is also overated its all about who u defended your title against. So where I am getting it is...Its pretty much who u beat. And in all honesty not trying to bash Calzaghe! Just being Honest! Calzaghe beat No one. He beat Kessler and Lacy but who did those fighters beat?? Listen, Fact Calzaghe 1st trip to the U.S is against a 43 year old who didn't perform too well against Winky his last fight. How could anyone defend this so called LEGEND.Nah I got over that one.
