Like most fighters, he has fought near where he was born. England or Wales. That's where the money has been for him.

You have a warped view that Joe has always been some kind of superstar here and great fights were available to him. They weren't. He was pulling in less than 5,000 to watch his fights about 5 years ago. He needed someone to take a chance to catapult him into the big time. He became the man in his division that is all you can do. Lacy had to beat him, and unfortunately he was the only HYPED American to make a challenge for the crown at 168. It's understandable 'Nard ducked him the first time. There was no point facing Joe. He would have got beat by a no-name euro f.ag slapper ****. He'd have been finished.

Joe went to Germany for £700,000 to fight Veit. Joe is a professional boxer, he fights for money. He got more for that fight than Lacy

Any one would think Joe Calzaghe ducked people.

on some real honest **** yo I been real quiet lately on Joe VS B-Hop, I have yet to really sit down on a prediction, I may have given the nod to Joe but it's like everytime I study his tapes I notice he has a style PERFECT for Bernard, Joe just bombs away with no regard to defense he just goes all out with rapid fire punches. I'm wondering what will happen when Bernard grabs 1 of his arms, comes in with his hardest head shots(his ACTUAL head) and punch combinations on the inside and just continuously do that, what happens when B-Hop being the cheater that he is plays dirty and looks for any low blow, elbow or head butt he can find and is successful? we talking about a guywho LITERALLY cheated his way into the finals of the Middleweight tournament in 2001 when he hit Keith Holmes more in his balls than in anywhere else, Joe better be prepared..

a lot of people I know want to be all patriotic about the fight on some "Iwant the American to win" but ME? I say **** that, it's about Boxing and that earns Joe the nod but then again just knowing how much of a bonified cheater Bernard Hopkins is it's hard for me to say he will do it fairly, however a loss is still a loss and if he can do **** like tie up an arm and come in with his head and try and sneak in a few low blows and SOME legit punches then it could be a hard night. this fight will be ugly for sure and the cheater Bernard Hopkins might be able to cheat his way into a W, I hope it doesn't happen because I don't condone cheating in a sport like Boxing but with B-Hop you never really do know..

That's what Hops does, he makes it close. With dirty ****, and ruffles your feathers. Makes you reckless and capitalises on openings that usually wouldn't be there. He was never a great.

Joe realises the Jab will be important. The most Hopkins-esqe fighter Joe has fought was Bika. When it got dirty he did lose rounds, because he was trying to knock him out. Joe ain't going to try and knock him out. His superior handspeed will just pick of a 44 year old man from the outside. Whilst occassionally Joe will get caught with some good counter rights, but that **** just ain't going to win Hops a fight.

          Hopkins ain't that good.

Nah, he just needs Tito Snr to help out with the hands.

you have to remember that a win is a win so if B-Hop cheats and gets away with it all you can do is hate him for it but he still wins the fight, I personally disagree with his choices of cheating, I think Boxing is a clean sport but then you got guys who play against the rules, it's like that in all sports. Joe isn't much of a smart fighter himself, he's fast and aggressive for 12 but he's also very reckless and if you can successfully apply a game plan on him and beat him at his own game then you good, Hopkins if anything at this point can only do the inside fighting well, he can grab you up and toss you around more than what he can just let his hands go on you at this point so Joe will have to use that jab HEAVILY and keep a safe distance from a dirty fighter who when he steps in to punch the first thing that lands is his head..

Hopkins is a great because of the resume, he's a notable name and over the years built a legacy to cement that, he lost twice to Taylor so he moved up and beat Tarver and Wright, someone who Taylor could not beat, true he cheated but like I said before a win is still a win. IMO he also didn't break the Middleweight record of 14 consecutive defenses because when Monzon did it if I recall properly he defend the UNDISPUTED Middleweight title which Bernard didn't have to until the Trinidad fight, anyways call it what you will it ain't what YOU or I think it's about the people who record history and Bernard Hopkins as much as we might not like it has cheated his legacy further than it should be but he did it.. he DOES have a hard come up story and that also plays with his bad boy image in the ring but he is a legend, gave Felix Tito Trinidad his 1st loss(TRUE he pushed him half to death but..) and knocked Oscar out with a body shot, dude is a legend but hey man I don't agree with what he does nowadays and I also don't believe Joe is too much smarter than Bernard, Joe wails off and doesn't think at times, he better keep that jab poppin and keep those feet moving cuz B-Hop is a cheater..

This is going to be such a good fight as they are both crafty on the inside, no one has come close to matching Bernard in clinches, so my mouth is watering - I know some people find the inside stuff boring, but there is a real art to it. If and I say IF Joe can Match Bernard on the inside, how will Bernard react?? ****, they might each second guess each other out of a proper game plan!!!

very true. see thats what worries me though because B-Hop can ONLY fight on the inside at this point and Joe is more reckless there than anything, Joe will have to learn how to push away from a fight and win rounds and not because he isn't a better fighter than Bernard but because if he doesn't Bernard will cheat and try to hit him with his skull. I want to see this fight too but truth be told I smell something that I wouldn't eat in the air, something just tells me something is going to happen and Bernard is going to be the cause of it.. I feel you though I do too want to watch this fight. 100

If Joe just uses his jab consistantly he wins.

Yep one of the funniest things you'll see in boxing is Enzo screaming at Joe 'Don't you dare get ****ing raggedy in there' . Enzo will be on his ass between rounds if he feels Joe is risking / inviting a headbutt or legit counter
