    Calzaghe getting dropped hard:

    Full fight Mitchell v Calzaghe.

In this fight Mitchell said it was the hardest he`d ever hit someone and they got up.

I love this fight, it's one of my favorites. Calzaghe showed some real heart, getting dropped like that and still right after, going and trading shots with the guy.

Agreed, what was crazy is, while getting up, when he was in his knees, to me it didn't seem like he even knew where he was.

If today's Calzaghe fought that MItchell, he'd probably box to a wide decision. But that fight is better as it was. Great stuff, it's been posted a lot before but it's worth some rewatches

When Joe sits on his shot he has a lot of power.

Joe needs to see Mayweather's hand specialist. It'd be nice to see him with pop like that again. At the very least, wrap his hands two inches thick like Floyd does.

Yeah he looked totally out of it, neck almost not being able to support his head but he got up and fought through it.

With 1:25 remaining in the round, Calzaghe (11 stone 13 pounds, 167 US pounds) clipped the challenger with a vigorous three-punch combination to the head and midsection. Calzaghe took two steps back and then shocked Mitchell with two straight left crosses that danced off his chin. The boxers traded punches with a furious exchange near the ropes and both men landed with bone melting urgency. Despite scoring with a sudden flood of blows, the left handed champion committed the cardinal error of squaring his shoulders up in front of the powerful Mitchell. The challenger connected with a stunning right hand to the head and Calzaghe answered with his own ******* of leather that brought the crowd to their feet.

At the 1:01 mark of the 1st, Calzaghe gained the upper hand by drilling the challenger with three sweeping left hands to the head. The third punch rocked the challenger and Calzaghe unloaded a vicious nine-punch output that rocketed off Mitchell's skull. The challenger did a brief two-step as his legs wobbled but he maintained his balance and Calzaghe caught him with another four roundhouse blows. With 41-seconds to go in the round, Calzaghe unload a sharp left cross the rocked Mitchell momentarily back on his heels. With most of the Welshmen in the building standing, shouting, and screaming, Calzaghe answered their anguish by blasting the challenger with two more concussive left hands that thudded off the challenger's exposed chin. Just before the bell, Calzaghe took a half step back and caught Mitchell leaning inside with his guard slightly down. The champion drilled the challenger with three more clubbing punches that ricocheted of his placid features. At the end of the round the boxing fans stood in unison and cheered not only their hero but also the challenger for his valor.
