Nah. He warned Mayweather too. He was slapping his elbows to get out of the clinch and said "Mayweather stop holding" a couple of times too. Ricky Hatton was doing it more though and so Cortez was calling him out on it.

He warned Hatton for holding when he wasn't even holding. He also split them up when they weren't even in a clinch. It doesn't matter why Mayweather was using his elbows the fact is that using them at all is illegal but it went unpunished. All in all Cortez had a dreadful night.

Even if it had gotten him points reducted, it didn't matter. The fight still ended in a knockout. And he didn't really tell Hatton he was holding when he wasn't, but he would break them up when they were about to go into a clich. It makes it a bit better that way because Hatton wasn't throwing punches and Mayweather wasn't either. It would have been more boring so he broke them up.

Whenever Hatton started throwing punches/bully Mayweather to the ropes Cortez would let him. I think he did a pretty fair job in letting Hatton fight his fight. However the only thing that bothers me was that in round 2 he kept calling time out. That was really annoying.

I fully understand what you're saying about Hatton getting inside and trying to rough you up. And I don't think under any circumstances, with any other ref/ring size/gloves/etc that the eventual outcome would have been any different. I just like getting FloyFanboy fired up, to see what kind of ****** remark he'll make next.
